To celebrate her third birthday, I've been treating my Cup to a bit of a tidy up & tweak over the last few weeks and I thought i'd share the very pleasing results with you guys plus a few pics & vids, lovely jubbily! :)

The majority of the work was carried out by a company called 'Yozzasport' whom are well regarded amongst the 'ClioSport' forum members. The customer service stretched as far as 'Yozza' delivering my Cup to me at Oulton Park where I was watching the ClioCup racing & Touring cars, very cool! :cool:

* Drilling & removing original locking wheelnuts, due to losing the key!
* Replacement Mguard locking wheel nuts!
* Full refurb of all wheels back to original condition.
* A mini-mid-service including full oil-change.
* Fitment of YozzaSport fast-road brake kit for the front end, comprising of:
- 280mm Brembo discs
- EBC Greenstuff pads
- Goodridge steel braided hoses
* Some fresh Continental SportContact rubber at the front.
* And finally, all wheels ballanced & a full allignment tweak carried out.

Other tidy up work included a trip to CarCare Express for repairs & painting, plus I treated her to some bits & bobs from Fancyplates, Halfords & Renault.

* Repaired & resprayed bodywork scrape
* Repaired & resprayed sideskirt scrape
* Resprayed rear-bumper
* Removed parking-dents
* Colour-coded side mouldings
* New 'custom' design number plates
* Bosch wiper blades all round (silent!)
* Air-freshner! :p
* Loads of TurtleWax goodness

As mentioned above, the results are very pleasing!
First of all she looks in absolutely top notch condition, wheels immaculate, bodywork is scrape & dent free plus the side profile looks cleaner now it's properly colour-coded. It's so cliched but she does get some attention from the public, which is fairly suprising as it's only a Clio, still I never exactly got her for the looks...

...but I did get her for the drive!
The Contisports on the front end replace the old-set which only just managed 6,000 miles!!! :cool: I only use the Cup as a toy as I've been running a company car & track car, so it's fair to say all those miles were from hard & fun action on the road! Due to the return of some tread, low-speed understeer has been tamed & hard-acceleration see's less tramlining.

As for the new brake kit... Wow!
While I've been impressed with the standard setup from Renault, the Yozzasport brake-kit has raised the game somewhat. There's less pedal travel & a greater bite, you can really sense how much pressure is being applied by the calipers. Deceleration from high speeds is much more apparent, genuinely quite spectacular, perfect for fast B-road action, although hard-application under ~40mph can easily overwhelm the front-end.

Right enough waffle! All the above has easily cost £1,000 which isn't small change, however much of the work was 'repairs' & to be fair before this all I've really ever had to do was throw tyres at her. Future thoughts basically involve enjoying her "as-is" into next year then start looking at something different. Although with how she's currently running it's hard to know what i'd replace her with...

I've knocked together a couple of video's, although they never seem to properly capture the action! Cheers to BaJ for hosting.
/Snakepass (16mb) - The maiden run with the new kit, a top way to break them in! Sorry about the poo poo glare from the sun!
/MM HillClimb (37mb) - Should be recognised by many as the HillClimb run of the Manchester Meet circuit. It was fairly foggy at the top! Baa! ;)
Alsooo, despite her being French, the rattles are actually caused from the camera being wedged into the passenger seat. Honestly!!!

And finally a few pictures, with links to a couple of before shots:
Wheel - pre-refurb!
Scrape - pre respray!
Sidestrip - pre respray.
Tyre - pre replace after 6,000 miles! :cool:

Cheers for taking any time out to read, i'll try my best to answer any questions & I accept postive or negative feedback!
She will be present at MM4 & as always, available for passenger rides.

No children or animals were harmed during the making of this thread. Schwing!

sorry for being a plank, is yours a 182 or 172? :)

Is there a reason they don't have the twin exhausts on the cup? I guess its to save the weight of the second backbox

I really like the little Clios. Just a shame I feel like they are a little small for me and worry I look like Hightower from police academy when sitting in one or I would likely buy one. :p

Wow, that looks immaculate now. The wheels and stuff were pretty shabby beforehand but it looks brand new now.

Making me miss my 172 like a mo fo. Full fat in the silver blue with cup alloys on. Yours is looking good. Bet it feels like new.

Hows the drivers seat btw as they always seem to come loose and flop around.

Very very nice mate. One thing though, i was allways told that the greenstuff pads were good for keeping your wheels clean, but rubbish for breaking! Any one else have any experience with these pads?

Wow Coco, that looks absolutely awesome mate! :cool:

I knew the car was in for the brake upgrade a few months back. Glad to see it paid off. I've still not done mine :o

Car really does look like brand new. You must be so happy with it :)

Looking forward to seeing it at MM4!

Looks stunning. Big thumbs up.

Only thing left to do is get some proper Clio mats, do they make special "cup" ones?

I would then leave it as it just looks so cool.

Mmmm its such a good road, first time the amount the car bounced around on the camber/bumps was a little unsettling and the corner where it has slow written on it after you pass the parked car half way up, was going round that to find it slants off camber and had a slight brown pants moment :o
