Ihave played all the CoD games to check this plus, RtCW in both SP and MP and only the SP of CoD2 do I see the break up in quality like in the pic. I am sure I have read about this before but unsure where. Can anyone explain why this happens and a fix? All the greeny, pupley bits!

I had graphic problems when running the game using the DX9 setting. Try the DX7 setting and see how it goes as that worked for me.

You lose on some lighting effects and other things when running in the DX7 setting but at least it's playable.

Looks like it's artifacting to me. Sometimes my nVidia drivers randomly auto detects the max frequencies of the card (which is too high) which then causes the artifacts. I have to pause the game and press the windows key to get to the desktop. This resets the frequencies to normal and then i switch back to COD2 where it changes to my custiom frequencies.

If those artifacts happen all the time then it's probably that you've clocked the card too high or the card is damaged. Does it happen in all games?

Try running the game with the side of your case off, with a desktop fan pointed at the graphics card. That should bring the temps down a bit to let you know if that's what the problem is.

COD2 isn't the most graphically intensive games around so that leads me to believe that it's a problem with the game and not the graphics card as it doesn't happen in other games. This is confirmed further by the fact that it doesn't happen in MP (i assume as you said SP only) yet it's the same game. Try re-installing the game and see what happens.

Only played it once since posting and it seemed OK, 12 hour shifts leave little time for play. Bear in mind the temperature has dropped about 30F.
Having played the new F.E.A.R MP without a problem I think it is clear it was because of the heat.

Thank's for asking BTW
