Hi guys,

I'm trying to connect to a game on Xbox Live in COD3 and it keeps bringing up the message "Unable to connect to all players".

It did it last night and is doing the same now. I've tried searching for servers, it lists them but whichever one I choose, it throws up the same error.

On the first night that I got the Xbox, it was working fine and I played for about an hour with no issues.

Anyone with COD3 who could check theirs for me?

Please help, as I miss my multiplayerness :(

hi,# i get exactly the same message..time and time again!! i thought the patch was supposed to of fixed this...apparently not according to a load of forum users. it does seem a bit hit n miss but one thing i do is refresh the server list a good few times and then wait a few minutes...it seems to connect okay then( yet again could be just luck) one thing i have noticed with mine is that it will connect to a team deathmatch or standard deathmatch(or battle..whatever its called!)server no probs, but it struggles with the others.. perseverance seems to be the key here :(
good luck,
steve.

Is this just with COD3 or does it happen with GRAW aswell? If it happens with both then it could be a router problem, make sure you are in the DMZ and the correct ports are forwarded.

Hmmm, I haven't tried GRAW actually.

The router is upstairs. I get my internet connection from it wirelessly, which is then shared from my computer to the Xbox.

Sucky way of doing it, but it's the only way at the moment :( I'll see if I can put the Xbox in the DMZ, should be able to if I keep track of its IP address.

GRAW seems ok.

It's found and connected to the game.

Yep, it's loading the map now.

edit... It just kicked me off saying 'Game is no longer available'

Sounds to me like youve got strict NAT settings..

Best think to do is to go to the 360 setup in dashboard and do a net connection test, and see what it says about your NAT connection, for online game playing without problems you need your NAT connection to say OPEN. If it says moderate or strict then you will have problems connecting to games online.

To solve these problems you need to forward the relevant ports or open the DMZ on your router.

Cheers Scooby.

I did a test before and it came up as strict. I'll have a play with the router settings and see what I can do.

:)

Is it safe to put the Xbox in the DMZ?

tbh i really wouldn't worry about playing cod 3 online. It's flat and leaves me wondering why i just wasted 20 mins waiting for a game to fill up. I find is annoyingly hard to tell who is on your own team and who is the enemy too. The maps are absolutly gigantic, way too big for the game modes. I was going to play this for some more achievements, but i'm not going to bother at all as the gameplay online sorta reminds me of how Prey was online. Quite disappointed because the single player is amazing.

I had the same error messages when trying to connect to hosts. As previously posted, it is because of strict NAT settings. There was a similar problem in COD2. You just need to forward ports 88 and 3074 for the 360's IP on your router/modem and you will not experience anymore problems.

I don't know, I had so much fun! It's certainly much more relaxing than playing CS:S on the PC... after which I used to be fed up of getting killed and basically sucking at the game that I was angry with it, lol.

After an hour of COD, I was getting well into it. I agree, the maps are huge, but once I got used to the layout, the spawn points weren't majorly bad and I was able to find my way back to the action quite easily.

Only thing that did bug me about it, was that I was in a server with 3 other people for about 10 minutes. After that, it started to fill up and there were soon 15 people on either team. So much fun.

dannyraul, cheers for that, will do it now :) Can the Xbox be set up for a static IP? Don't want to have to change the NAT settings everytime it changes its IP. Will forwarding those two ports fix the problem in all games?

I made a DHCP reservation on the router for the 360 so that it always uses the same IP. Since forwarding those two ports I have been able to connect to any game on COD3, connectivity to other games such as Vegas has improved also.

ive only had problems trying to get into ranked matches. I usually play player matches and search for war games and it usually works ok.

Ok, I think it's working.

Due to my router being connected to my computer wirelessly, and then me having to share the connection to my Xbox, I couldn't just put the Xbox in the DMZ or port-forward the relevant ports to the Xbox. My router's IP range is set on 192.168.1.x whereas ICS leases IPs with the prefix 192.168.0.x.

I tried a few things to no avail, but have just put my computer in the DMZ and the Xbox is now showing NAT status as 'Open'.

Just going to try COD now.
