CoD4 fps drop

I'm running the computer in my sig and get a nice constant 125fps on CoD4, most of the time. About 5 seconds after I join agame my frame rate drops to around 5fps for a few seconds, then jumps back up.

was just wondering if this is a common problem with an easy fix, or am i just going to have to live with it?

this maybe when its pre-loading stuff textures or something it happened to me with Battlefield something...

you could try downloading this: http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php

adding cod4 to the program and it will search for updates for punkbuster for cod4.

its a good idea to do this every so often say, every month to make sure its updated. otherwise their maybe issues.

if that doesnt work then just take it as just a normal thing that happens. mine does a similar thing, i think its something to do with loading textures but i may be wrong. though mine doesnt go that low.
