COD4 MW2 MAX PLAYER COUNT 8V8

I'm so close to cancelling my order. I didn't play much of the SP of COD4 as I got stuck into the mp too quickly and now with this 8v8 nonsense I can't see much point in buying MW2. Might wait for reviews on this one.

Unfortunately that's completely true (unless you're playing a lot higher than 1920x1200). I bought a 4870 about a year ago and while I've had a lot of fun using it, compared to a few years ago, there just aren't enough good PC exclusives these days. I'd even be tempted to say I've probably had more "fun" on consoles in the last year, which is a shame. Still got hope for BF3 though.

I was going to upgrade from my C2D to an i7 but most of the work I do on my PC is web development and graphical work which it handles fine and games mostly run maxed out, so there's little point.

I know. It's such a shame. Doesn't stop me from buying hardware but it should. All hail Crysis, the last of a great dynasty of games that pushed boundaries.
 
I can only see upgrading to the latest and greatest pc hardware is after the next gen of consoles come out.

I was going to build a new gaming pc for MW2/L4D2/Borderlands/what ever else comes out... but now I'm a little put off by all this MW2 news.
 
To be quite honest, I cannot describe how ****ed off I am at this. I really have been looking forward to this for well over 6 months. I still play COD4 every day.

I'm telling you right now, IW will not change their minds, no matter what !

Yeah that video is not gameplay, but I assume it is still using the in game 3D engine because the graphics are pretty much the same from the actual gameplay videos we've seen. See here for example:

My opinion is quite simple, **** IW/Activision.

Don't buy their game and instead show interest for something like Bad Company 2. At least DICE have come out and stated their support for dedicated servers and we know that they have the potential to make truely awesome multiplayer games (as buggy as they are!).
 
Never played COD MW on Pc , so excuse me if some of this is incorrect.


COD MW has 16 v 16 (or more) dedicated servers.
COD MW2 has 8 v 8 P2P servers.

So they have spent time and money developing a P2P server system , when they already have a perfectly good dedicated server system in COD MW and they've reduced the amount of players per server ?

May as well call it COD MW 0.5.

What a joke this is. Ive never downloaded a illegal game, but im going to go out of my way to do it with this game.

So should everyone else, they want to shaft us, then we can shaft them back.

Really, i dont see the point.? Devs and publishers moan about how PC games get pirated and they lose money. They then try and do something different for pc and then see that actually, no one wants p2p games like this.

The best way to show them they have boobed in this instance is simply not to buy the game and not to play it.
