COD4 stats reset?

just logged onto cod4 and it said there was a problem and my stats had to be reset :eek:

took me ages building those stats is there anything i can do?and has anyone else experienced this?

Did you re-install windows?

The corrupted stats is still in the player folder in your COD4 game directory just renamed so you can always name it back and try again. make sure you have your CD-KEY entered first before trying your old stats again that worked for me.

i haven't reinstalled windows,only thing i have done is mess with my cpu clocks then when starting cod4 it asks if you want to run in safe mode,thats the only thing ive done and done it plenty of times previous with no probs.had a look and i cant find the stats file,any chance you could tell me specifically where it is and what its called?

X:\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profile\*your profile name*\mpdata

If it's corrupt you should see a -corrupt added at the back.

Rename it back to mpdata and try again maybe without running safe mode.

Theres a little tool on the net somewhere that backsup your profiles.
Very worth doing, then you can just reinstate them into:
activision>call of duty4>players>profiles

Though you may have to create the players and profiles folders if you've reinstalled the game, as I found out tonight.

You werent cheating were you? EA are pretty strict with glitchers/aimbotters/cheaters

....no i wasn't cheating,my multiplayer gaming days may have peaked back in the day of deltaforce 2 but im going out gracefully

What's EA got to do with it?
CoD4 is released by Activison...

Anyways even cheating wouldn't reset your stats, Punkbuster would ban your cd key.

nope cant find the players folder

looked everywhere.

You must have corrupted your stats file. Happened to my friend, he wasn't a happy bappy.

Nothing you can do unless you want one of us to give us our stats file to help you catch up. Friend did it with a clan member. Instantly got to level 55. :rolleyes:
