CoD4 Sucks.

shame you use Cod 2 as an example
they crippled Cod 1 (best online game ever ) to create cod 2 which is famous for it's dumbed down console content and small maps and large hitboxes etc

I haven't played cod 4 yet but don't really intend to after the joke that was cod 2
 
COD 1 and UO = Superb
COD2 = Superb (dunno why everyone hates it so much, you're obviously not very good at it)
COD 4 = Great, only problem I have with it is that the maps are a bit on the small side.

If you dont like the COD series then why keep buying them? This nonsense about 2 shots to the head to get a kill annoys me, you are obviously pretty awful and think you're hitting the head but you're obviously not as in both normal and hardcore a headshot is one hit kill.
Choppers and airstrikes are an interesting addition, just hide indoors or shoot it down? Thats what everyone else manages to do :rolleyes:

Honestly CS people are all the same, if its not CS then its rubbish.....CS is soooo old and tired now
 
I agree with everything in the OP, the game is just BAD for everything bar messing around on a pub server. CoD2 is where its at, its just a pity that its so inactive now because of CoD4.

The less people better, best imo is 4vs4 hardcore. No nade spam, some long range shootings, 1 headshot= kill.

normal mode is so people can get used to the game then hardcore is for those looking for something a bit more realistic.

personally i like both modes just depends what im in the mood for. its excellent for small lans

Nope, if you go to their forum theres a comment from an iw employee saying the engine is proprietary. Wiki also has it down as a proprietary engine which backs up what the iw rep stated. it still uses some code from the quake 3 engine though, back of the cod4 box has a mention of id licensed software.

yes cod4 public is so very bad. :(

However once you get into a decent clan and league, such as clanbase. Most of the annoying parts of the game are removed. Becomes much more skill based game.

Just a shame 99% of publics are hardcore or have all the weapons/perks enabled.

It is slightly better with CB pam but the game is still no where near CoD2's standard, so much less skill involved.

Wrong.

I've been in numerous PCW's, ask any competitive player. He/She will tell you the same thing.

I've tested it up close, unless you wound them ELSEWHERE prior to shooting the head (FOOT, BODY, LEG?) it will NOT be a head shot.

It held my interest for a good day before i was just completely and utterly bored of it. Theres just zero variation in game style. I like a bit of CS, although i tend to rush in that too and often die early as I don't camp. So in theory COD4 MP should be fun but in reality, you spawn and can randomly die almost instantly not just once or twice in a few hours of gaming, but repeatedly and repeatedly in the same round. Spawn, chopper, spawn airstrike, spawn aistrike, spawn 3 guys run round the corner and shoot you before you've realised exactly where you spawned, spawn again, random nade that was thrown before you spawned kills you.

THat is all ridiculous, completely and utterly ridiculous. At worst it needs a specific spawn area for each team that can't be entered and with 2-3 exits to help prevent spawn campers a little. Then on some maps if someone gets on a streak early and just gets to spam airstrikes over and over and over again the map can be over instantly but you sit there for 20 mins spawning and dieing.
So many flaws.

Its such a shame that single player was soooooooooo short, as it was brilliant. I can't believe some people complain about scripted games and being too linear. 99% of the best battles and best bits in games are heavily scripted. AI still sucks frankly and a good scripted sequence of attacks can make for the best gaming around. Stalkers first 2-3 real attacks especially the car junk yard bit where they hunt you, very very heavily scripted and easily the best most realistic attacks in the game.

Why it was so short i really don't know though :(
 
CoD2 because it has variation and it involves some kind of skill

COD2 was about the worst MP I'd EVER played. In fact COD2 is more "dumbed down for console tarts" than COD4 IMO.

COD:UO was my favourite though :)

IDD, only guns which are 1 HS kills are the M16, G3 and all the snipers I think.

There is no way CoD2 is more dumbed down than CoD4, what makes you think that? Ask any decent CoD2 player and they will tell you the same. CoD4 is bad.
 
I think COD4 is fantastic. heck with the amount of copy's sold it cant b that bad ;)

its a really fast paced with constant action.

i play allot of css matches which can be slow and at times boring so cod 4 gives me a break from that.

i do agree cod4 does not require the skill or concentration needed for other fps on line games but to say it a game that requires no skill is a bit silly.

At the end of the day if you don't like it don't play it.
