** CODEMASTERS - GRID 2 - £22.99 - OUT NOW!!! **

Have you got idea, when it will be despatched ?

I hope Codies won't turn off servers so quickly like before (GRID1), because I don't want to use "patches" like Tunngle which didn't allow to kick mo*ons, cheaters, and didn't develop car strenght in Demo Derby. BTW, I hope Demo Derby will be available here as it was one and only sensible joy :)

That was down to the hosting company.

How soon after its release did the servers go down? I never played Grid 1 but am thinking of picking this one up? :)

It was a few years I think and it wasn't done by Codies it was done by the company running the network code on PS3/PC didn't continue their contract therefore cut the code. Codemasters should have maybe had an alternative but getting that implemented on a 3 year old game is probably pretty hard do justify (plus really hard to do on a live game!).

Where as Grid 2 is run via Steamworks so you would expect that to be around for a good 5+ years at least and probably way longer.

Again, can someone confirm if this version will come with the bonus the steam version will? £22 is a good price, but not so much if it's without those dlc things, etc.

I doubt it as they are Steam pre-order bonuses and not retail, if you enter the key on Steam you will just get given the "Retail" version which won't come with the bonuses.

The only way I could see it working with Retail is if they managed to get the additional codes for each pre-order pack.

I just got myself a T500 RS and then remembered this game was coming out.

Good times ahead.

As for wheel suggestions G27 seems to be popular if you can find one, I would recommend the T500 RS but it seems unfair, used it for about 20 minutes, seemed good though.

have had a t500 for along time now. its a brilliant wheel, but total overkill for a basic game like this. really need something like rfactor2 to really get the best from it.

:D
