Just wondering what has happened to codemasters since being bought by EA. From what I can see they have released a couple of f1 games and grid legends since being taken over, does anyone know what has happened with them?

I know games take longer to create these day but since 2021 they have been none existent compared to what they were like. Hopefully next year they drop a few games as I generally enjoy codemasters games.

I'm pretty sure half the workforce have moved on to Rebellion or Lighthouse to escape the pressures of EA, sadly.

That's a shame but generally happens when a studio gets bought out by a bigger company.

EA got rid of a lot of people. Some of them which had been there for decades. To be honest, the company was run very poorly so I'm not surprised.

I'm guessing the massive F1 licence fees restrict development for the Formula One games which are becoming more and more like DLCs with each new release.

Big corporations like EA are often controlled by accountants which greatly restricts the creativity and output of their studios.

I'm surprised they haven't put a load of the games on their service yet, would make it a lot more appealing than what they currently offer.

It's a shame, we will never get more games like Overlord or Operation: Flashpoint, just money making generally licenced racing games.

Micro machines was awesome, I can remember playing 4 players each person sharing half of the controller lol.

Yes they are, but we need a new Worms game.

As far as I'm concerned they ceased to exist when EA bought them. To be fair they were going downhill for a while anyway...

Toca got rebranded to Grid. Grid 2007 is one of the best racing games out there, along with Autosport and Dirt 2 & 3 (haven't played the others).
