Coffee Adiction

I was close to 20 cups/pods a day, urologist made me drink less....lots less after he explained why had to see him and why coffee was the cause!
I drink far too much, my kidneys are shot so I really need to give it up.

I'd be happier buying beans, I guess it's just I don't like black coffee, I like lattes and it's hard to make them the same as buying them.

I'm not a fan of black coffee either, but it's not that hard to learn how to make cappuccinos etc. I'm far from the best at making them but mine are easily as good as most of the ones I buy out.

If you're going to be addicted to coffee at least do it right. Find an independent cafe that makes a proper coffee, or learn to do it yourself, and save yourself some money at the same time.
Psst, they're not actually addicted to coffee. Just caffeine ;)

Personally I work in the West end and am surrounded by nice hipster coffee joints. But I rarely buy them. I have an Aeropress for home, so a coffee costs me approx 50p. That is only for weekends though as we have a free coffee bar at work. I still stick to one a day, whether a work day or weekend. I do have 2-3 teas on top of that though.

People that spend £3 odd per day on rubbish like Starbucks or Costalot need their heads examined.

It is but not coffee on its own as such,i cant really taste the coffee in it to be honest :)

I only drink coffee, usually percolated, or filtered, and ALWAYS black, no sugar.
I don't drink mocha, but I always thought that it was coffee either with chocolate, or chocolate flavoured milk added, or is that macciato or macchiato?
Possibly macchiato is just a soupçon of milk, can't remember now, I know what espresso is, and occasionally have a double espresso after dinner, usually with a good Armagnac.
I remember when I about 10 or 11, my mother brought home a smallish teapot, a tea strainer, and a packet of loose tea, my father was aghast, "Zut Alors!" he cried, "What's this in a respectable home?"
Mum said, "It's for any English visitors."

I used to drink a fair bit but dont any more.
I have two cups of filtered from the cafe in the morning, this kicks off my boot up process - sometimes i knock back a 3rd if i have updates to do.
Used to gub a couple at 3pm as well but knocked that on the head, i wont drink any coffee past that time during the day now - its just for mornings.

Ohh and its got to be fresh, nothing out of a machine and with milk/2 sugars... hmmm....

I've gone from 2 to 3 a day to 1 a day now.

Even just home made stuff, that means 1 bag now lasts twice as long, saves a lot of money.

I can get by on three cups on a work day, I've even recently been good and swapped the meal deal caffeinated drink for Naked smoothies. But on days off when I'm at home all day, not going off for a 3+ hours cycle ride, I can easily go through 7-10 cups.

And each cup can be anything from one to three heaped teaspoons of instant!

I might need a TUE if I turn pro. ;)

I drink a lot of coffee 5 days a week, we get it free at work and its an addiction without a doubt, i'm useless in the morning before I get at least 2 in me.

Weekend not so much ill have a couple on a saturday morning with breakfast before golf but nothing other than that, sunday depends, occasionally if I get up late and have to do a dash to the supermarket ill grab a quick mcdonalds coffee or something for on the way round. Generally though at home I drink water or fruit juice

I'm the opposite, I can wake up fine in the morning without coffee but when i get to around 3PM i go into a slump and get all dozey (If i'm doing nothing on the weekend i usually end up having a nap around this time), so coffee is the most use then!

I used to spend way too much on coffee. Every weekday morning I used to go to Costa and spend about £3.25 on a coffee. £3.25 x 5 = £16.25 a week x 4 = £65 a month x 12 = £780 a year....

"What the **** am I doing?!" I exclaimed upon realisation.

Needless to say, I don't buy coffee from shops anymore and haven't done for a while now. I have a coffee machine at home and bring one to work with me in a Thermos.

2 cups a day, usually. And only instant (just can't be doing with the faff of 'proper' coffee). One breakfast time and one when I get home from work.

I got drawn into the tea/coffee rota at work at one point, having about 4 cups during the working day. This was fine, except when I got to the weekend I found I was jonesing for a hit at around lunchtime and it was often inconvenient (like when we were out), so I put a stop to that. Now any 'extra' daytime cups at weekends are like a bonus, rather than a necessity.

It's not a good sign but even on a good nights sleep I still struggle come 7am at work without a coffee.

Usually make a double espresso at home before I leave for work, and a filter coffee when I get home.

I have a double shot espresso every morning. I grind my own beans and use my own espresso machine, so it's a fractional cost of the stuff in a coffee shop (and tends to be far nicer, too).

The rest of the coffee I drink is at work for free (instant Nescafe Gold Blend, it's not the best but it's serviceable, it also gets me up and out of my chair four or five times a day to walk down the other end of the office).

I make myself and my partner about 8 Americano drinks each over a given weekend. Since I buy my own bags of whole bean coffee for around £3.50 per week - and rarely visit coffee shops - it's only costing me £182 per year. I bought the grinder for £140 and the machine was free from my parents. To spend £600 per year on coffee seems insane.

I guess most of it can be attributed to the Starbucks culture.

I don't drink tea or coffee really.

In the middle of winter if it's really cold and someone offers me a tea I might have one, but that's about the only time.

I mainly drink water and also have 1 or 2 cans of Coke Zero a day.

You can buy 30 cans for £7 from ASDA, so it doesn't really cost a lot.
