Of course it works.
USB joystick controller under the table. Proper microswitched buttons mounted through holes in the table.

The joysticks are mounted from underneath and protrude through 27mm holes.

I basically bought an arcade cabinet controller kit but mounted it to a table rather than a cabinet.

I'm not allowed to talk about that.
I'm using it for open source games, yes, that's what I use it for

It works with my PS3 too so I can use it for fighting games on that.
