Coke or gin and tonic - what's worse?

I drink Gin neat when i do drink it but that's not very often even though its my job to produce gin so obviously i can get it very cheaply ,fever tree otherwise as said .
Early evening i would probably do lime and soda or after 7pm red wine ,had some pastis that i wont be replacing for a while but had that with fresh orange
Some people do insist on using sun for an excuse to get hammered and fill the silence with usually naff music

Why does Diet Coke exist? There’s no taste in it. But Coke Zero - taste.

I don’t understand these alcohol free gins we have at work. They are more expensive than the proper stuff. Plus those I know who don’t drink either through personal choice, religion or medical reasons, don’t drink non alcoholic stuff. They stick to juices, water, fizzy drinks and hot drinks.

The alcohol free are obvious - they're aimed at people who drive, or those that don't drink, but at least offers them something other than coke or lemonade. I've had some nice alcohol free beers before.

What perplexes me though is when you scan in your alcohol free beer and the till pops up with an age restricted item...:confused: not been able to find an answer on that. I can only assume it's so they don't want kids to "look" like they're drinking beer down the park.

It's not technically alcohol free, just a stupid low percentage. Maybe.....?

Or a limitation of the system, anything within a certain product group could be age restricted and they just stick the alcohol free stuff in with the normal.

I was a big fan of Tanqueray when I drank, now on the rare occasion I fancy a gin I have Tanqueray alcohol free. Tastes exactly the same, just as nice.

Urgh, full sugar coke or pepsi is so vile to me now.

Pepsi Max > Coke Zero > Diet Coke >>>>>>> full sugar colas.

However Fentiman's Curiosity Cola (26% less sugar than normal coke) is still my favourite.

I drank Coke Zero fairly regularly at work, just need something cold and fizzy.

We just bought a soda stream (yes yes we had one in the 70’s too) with the Pepsi max syrup, Coke Zero has been retired since.

Gin is horrible no matter what is in it.

To answer the OPs question, rather than to judge them, I would say the gin and tonic.

Both aren't great, but if you are taking about which is worse for you, I would say the Coke Zero would must be absolutely rammed full of crap. If you have a half decent gin with some low-calorie topic it should be better.

Yep, RAMMED!

Coke Zero:
Carbonated Water, Colour (Caramel E150d), Acid (Phosphoric Acid), Sweeteners (Aspartame, Acesulfame-K), Natural Flavourings, Acidity Regulator (Sodium Citrates)

Low cal tonic water:
Carbonated Water, Acid: Citric Acid; Acidity Regulator: Sodium Citrates; Flavourings (Contains Quinine); Sweetener: Aspartame; Preservative: Sodium Benzoate.

I do find it funny when people demonise e numbers, granted some probably aren't great for you but it's purely a code for a compound in food stuff.
Probably should stay away from E948... oxygen, or maybe E101... .vitamin B12 :p

Stick with fever tree light.

Carbonated Spring Water, Fructose (Fruit Sugar), Acid (Citric Acid), Natural Flavourings including Quinine

I hate both gin and tonic water, so would literally choose any other drink over them xD

not arguing with you as it makes sense, but that cant be it as even Bass shandy has a small amount in it but that is not restricted. I suspect - but just a guess - is that even alcohol free beer is still considered a gateway to booze (but then so is bass shandy , however if that was released today i believe that would be restricted too , just like if alcohol was only just invented or tobacco just discovered there is no chance at all it would be legal.

what i find inexcusable is that alcohol free beer - and soft drinks such as coke - doubly so those out of a tap - cost as much as they do, after all its not like they are taxed like alcohol is.

With low cal tonic water you have a choice of varieties, with Coke Zero you don't. If you want Coke Zero, you have... well, Coke Zero.

A good low cal tonic water would be something like Fever Tree which just contains carbonated spring water, fructose, citric acid and natural flavourings.
