Cold calling question, is this illegal?

My boiler has an issue so I called the manufacturer and asked for advice. I did not give any phone number to them.

I'm now getting daily cold calls about boiler government replacement schemes, despite signing up with the TPS years ago.

Is it illegal for them to use their caller ID to get my number, then sell it to cold callers?

Next time they call ask for their company name and telephone number as you'll call them back - then inform them your registered on the TPS and it's illegal for them to call you as you aren't soliciting their calls and didn't give permission for your information to be shared or stored.

Then ask for any information relating to you to be removed, if they argue ask for a postal address so you can send a recorded letter asking for any data they hold relating to you to be destroyed.

None of this will work obviously as they're scum, but reputable companies usually stop when you ask

I like to get them to give their detials will I fill in a complant on the TPS then let them know what i have done.
