Basically I want to use "PC" cold cathodes and wire them up in my car into the footwells, and a clear one in the boot. Main reason........they are cheap :D

Can this be done because when reading about them they come with inverters etc. So what else (if it can be done) do I need to connect them to my car for when the doors/boot lid opens :)

Oh and if this needs moving then sorry.........I was like ok they are case mods, but its kind of a general question about hardware and a car  :D

So put it where you see fit if need be :)

I installed mine, wired into the igntion live on the stereo, and the earth.

that looks really good :) Though I dont want mine on when driving around though. I simply want the floor to light up when I open my doors and then go off again when they are closed :) Same for the boot really.

How did you wire them up? Did you need any special equipment at all?

EDIT: Is that a 106 by the way :)

EDIT 2: <aybenot......stereo is in the wrong place :D...........ignore me

its a corsa isent it?
my mate had them in his astra and i had them in my mini, and they will be goign into my new mini, just use the same inverters etc, i am sure you will know the switch for the light is at the doors, but i am unsure if you take a feed from one of the switches it might nto work when the passenger opens theres, you could have a job routing a wire down the A-piller from the light above, or finding the feed from the light behind the dash/what ever. but yeah they do look fantastic in real life too:D

I've just fitted a couple of the halfords ones to my car, took me and a mate 20 minutes and some ghetto wire stripping with our teeth to convert the two ciggy lighter plugs into one and fit them in to my footwells.

As I drive a golf and the interior lights are all blue anyway, the blue footwells look spangly and really add to the night time apperence....

was it rilot who did blue interior bulbs with his rx8?
anyone got the pics that were taken (and subsequently used by some online seller of the interior light)?

looks excellent imo

all the pics look cool so far imo :) but I still dont know how to wire the up lol. Is it as simple as chopping off the molex plugs and then just cutting into the circuit (like with fittin a rear break light). IF so, what are the transformer thigns that come with the PC cathodes and will I need to use them in a car?

Totally off topic here , Mark i havent spoken to you in months man , Log onto msn if you can , Would be nice to chat , cheers bud

Regards Your sexual harrasor :p

Chop off the Molex connector, and its the yellow and black wire (yellow live black earth) and wire them in. You will need the invertor.
