Cold Cathodes -----> Car footwells

Someone I know had some cold cathodes in his car footwells, was all a bit of a bodge job though! I think they look good in some cars but when you see people in their clapped out novas shining like the northern lights it makes you think twice about it!

looks more like a cockpit! i was thinking of going with some red low brightness LEDs in my foot wells - nothing as bright as that...and only light up when the doors are opened etc. would blue be better? might experiment :p

Basically I want to use "PC" cold cathodes and wire them up in my car into the footwells, and a clear one in the boot. Main reason........they are cheap :D

1p sweets are cheap, maybe I should put some of those in my footwells.

How weird is that..........i'm looking back at some of my old threads and tonight after runnin into ya while on MSN I read this lmao :D

Bet you thought I was ignoring ya or something lol

I have some wired into my interior lights, took the feed from the light at the front, ran down the a pillar and behind the glovebox then connected them (using the inverter) so they come on when the interior lights do. Also have 2 in the boot connected to the boot light in the same way.

i have 2 ccs in my pc and they used to be verry bright but now they have both gone a bit duller and one more than the other, are all ccs like this or might these just be a bit dodjy i boughtt hem form a mate who bought them from some pc shop.. lol

I'm using quite a few white ones in the 205 so I can see what I'm doing under the bonnet at night.

That looks awesome though they all look good so far imo :)

Just out of curiosity are they cold cathods or ones designed for cars? Have seen some LED ones now which I thought might be more durable should they be kicked.

i also have some led onea i hvent fitted anywere but had them on the battery, there not as good as cc/neon imo, leds are verry directional.

Cold cathodes, they were sold as ones specific to cars but they are the same as you get from electrical stores to put in your PC - they are sleeved with relatively tough plastic.

A 2 litre coke bottle rolling off your seat when you jab the brakes at 50mph is tougher though. Whoops! Never mind, easily and cheaply replaced :D
