Coldplay to split?

RHCP used to be a good band, but after they stopped taking drugs and became a bunch of tree hugging panzies, well lets forget about their current style, much like coldplay infact.

REM, hmm well better than RHCP now, but still, far too many cauliflower smoothies,

So you are rating their music by the people singing it?

I find in the vast majority people that knock Radiohead have only ever heard Creep. Way to go guys, let's choose a song the band themselves barely play any more!

That's a bit wide of the mark as far as I'm aware. Most of the people I know loved Radiohead up until Kid A, didn't mind a few tracks on that and just disliked just about everything since. A shame really, as they could have gone on to be one of the truly great British Bands.

Coffee shops and elevators everywhere will be in disarray!
Not to mention Hollyoaks, The OC and a plethora of other teen angst based TV programs.

In a manner of speaking, yes. After all a song writers traits and reasonsing is represented in their songs. For example RHCP. They used to be a little crazy, various vices, and they wrote their best material. Now they have gone clean, started drinking smoothies instead of alcohol and that has had a massive effect on their music. The went from agressive, ground breaking, exciting music, to, jingly jangly, parent freiendly pussies.

The difference between RHCP and Coldplay is that RHCP were actually rockstars at one point, now they are a shadow of their former creativity, whereas Coldplay were always smoothin supping, tree hugging panzies and that is reflected in their music.

coldplay deserve some hardcore credit...

that is me... i think they are class... they are another band from a long list that this country has produced that are top notch.

they are good people... and their music is amazing. especially live.

 Kid A is as good as OK Computer. Amnesiac is a bit more left field. HTTT is a decent blend of Kid A and their earlier styles. What's not to like?

By all intents and purposes Radiohead are one of the truly great British bands anyway, they are mahoosive.

great news if true.
the most depressingly unoriginal band since statos quos 3 chords.

Playing in a band that does Status Quo covers I can tell you that the Status Quo 3 chords is a myth. Yes they do have 3 chord songs eg Paper Plane, Caroline, Down The Dustpipe, In My Chair but the majority are filled with numerous chord changes. The other problem is that virtually every song requires a guitar change because Parfitt experiments with different tunings and such songs are very hard to emulate on stage unless you've got a rack of guitars like he has. Every time I hear a band try to do a Quo song they never seem to get it right because they attack them thinking they're straightforward.
(Sorry, had to get that off my chest :D )

whoooaaa DM

Quo were a decent band and i personally dindt like the fact they were assocaited with the 3 chord thing but the post i made was more in jest than reality (except the bit where coldplay are unoriginal depressing tripe)

just had to clear that up
