Wow you're all doing great with your modules and stuff.

Any alternatives for somebody who wants to better themselves but is doing crap at Uni? Doing a very generalised course that involves tons of different areas (programming, design, end user support, and more).

I'm 23 and finish Uni in a few months. Would like to get into animation but I'm panicking at the minute. :o

Passed my first paediatric rotation, woohoo. Also obstetrics & gynae.

Only mental health and infectious diseases to go after I complete the current module (chronic disease and rehabilitation)

2nd term assignment marks have started rolling in - another A+/100%!

Lecturers called me into a meeting yesterday - was quite worried what it was about. Turns out they've suggested I condense yr 2 and yr 3 of the degree into next year and do a taught Masters in the 3rd and they'll give me a studentship for the third year (it's quite a lot of money).

It's worth thinking about and I'd be daft not to - it'll be an incredible amount of work next year though, I'll have to think real hard on this.

What are you studying in?

Its literally impossible to get 100 in History (which I'm approaching the end of a four year course-woo!)

Interactive Media Design - basically Web Design plus emerging technologies (I can't find Lancasters course desc but here's Northumbria's and it's very similar).

They've suggested Human Computer Interaction as a Masters to complement.

Lecturer for the first one said it was a publishable standard and he's going to use it in his lectures as teaching material and 2nd one was worth 50% of the module - so technically I don't even have to hand the 2nd part in as I've already passed

To think I was worried that I wouldn't be suited to degree level study!

The trouble is, I don't know where to go from here - I've told my tutor that I know I'm not working at 100% of my capacity despite the grades - it feels like doing the assignments is like solving a puzzle - and I solved that puzzle in October! She's gone away to find out about putting me on a paid PhD instead of a Masters!

Cool :-)

What are you studying/where?

Our company chose to do it through Aston University as they're business oriented with their courses and modules. They "designed" three of them taking the modules which suited us the best depending on whether we're software engineers or something else (me being a sap system admin).

So I'm doing a "Business System Information" degree, mainly because I don't want to spend 3 years doing Java Programming. :p

Lectures start this week 8-9pm and 10am Saturdays!

^ I'm going to try draw your success and use it to my benefit.

Well, I'm still there. Blasted through first year, first set of second year exams weren't what I was after but weren't bad. Work work work till summer! :)

Roll on June 1st at 5pm. The end of the three hour exam and all of the exams of second year.

Last assignment handed in for Uni! That's it, I'm done and dusted until the middle of September. What an excellent year and very proud of what I've achieved so far (averaging 94%) and can't wait to see what next year brings.

Now, what to do with the next 4 months?

How's everyone else doing/done?

This clinical year is longer than the others. From a 3-4 month summer holiday to 1 month. Poor me. Mental health rotation at the moment. Very strange.

All assignments marked - that's it - the year is finally finished.

Clean sweep of all A+ grades on my assignments for term two - gonna celebrate that!

Pretty pleased with that for my first year - let's keep it going for the second!

I don't mean to upset you, but the second one down is B+. Sorry. :p

Edit: Unless term 2 was the second half of them all. In which case ignore.

I'm thinking about expanding my qualification portfolio in the new year. Having a few discussions on perhaps a second doctorate or some form of post doc. Not sure yet on details or the pathway, has anyone here gone down the route of a second doctorate?

Based on discussion in the MoH 2016 thread I just thought I'd bump this post by Castiel to highlight the point at which I realised his whole persona was a complete fabrication. His question was naive in the extreme for a self proclaimed academic.
