Following on from the 2014 thread I thought I would start (late) the 2015 thread.

Last week I took my GCSE English Exams. I walked away feeling I done good, but who knows. But I do believe I got the grade I want, just have to wait till August for the result :)

Today I had my summer school for the course I will be doing in September. It's an access to university health and social care. I am looking forward to it, and hope I do alright. Its a bit daunting with academic writing and referencing everything. But once I start my course they will obviously go through it.

How is everyone else getting on, what courses you all starting this year?

I've been accepted into a Merchant Navy training programme which is 2ish years at college and a yearish at sea.
I'm unsure if I'm going to do it. I'm 26 now, will be 29 by the time I finish it. However, it has decent prospects and whilst the 3 years of education will be a struggle (in terms of the lack of money, rather than the education side) I think it makes sense.

So yea, I could be going back to education. Weird to think that I started university 10 years ago!

You stole my thread!

Good luck on your course :-)

Looking forward to yr 2 - already bored and I've only been on my summer hols for two weeks!

Well I finished my engineering foundation year around mid May and I had my results on Friday.

Overall I got:
90% for mechanical science
86.6% for electrical science
83% for information and communication blah blah (pointless rubbish)
79% for maths for engineering

Funnily enough in maths I did better in my calculus exam than in my prior 'easier' one :p

On to the degree proper in September now.

Not starting my university but I'm currently looking for a placement for next year.
Didn't know how tough it is to look for jobs :p

Good luck on your results.

I'll be starting my final year of my BioMedical Science degree in September. Then moving on to a Masters or PhD.

I've decided to go and do my HND in Aeronautical Engineering this September (if the RAF won't have me) that is. I really want to get out of education but the qualification is always good to have and I can go to Uni after it for a year and I'll have a degree. It's not all bad :)

Well don't be bored after having 2 weeks off (being ~40% of most people's annual leave from work) and only being at the start of your summer holiday :p

Working on it - went fishing yesterday, a long drive in the Westfield today and I'm going mountain biking tomorrow.

Just need to think of something for Friday.
