Hi there, while installing Windows 7 I noticed for some reason a 200mb partition was created, but not installed onto, obviously, nor is it used, is there any way for me to reintegrate it with the main partition so I have just one basic partition?

As you can see, anyway for me to recombine the small partition back into the main partition? Or am I limited to reinstalling from scratch?

It's not a partition, it's just a bit of unallocated space. It may look big but the diagram is not proportional, it represents .0004% of your disk (if my maths is right).

I swear it's never appeared on any of my other installs, typically all there have been are primary active partitions, I was thinking this might be the cause of the lower access times and odd dips on the hdtach/hdtune? The space isn't bothering me, got plenty, just curious is all :)

Fairly common but didn't expect to see it at the beginning of the drive. You could try right-click on the partition in Disk Manager and see if you're offered the option to 'Extend' the volume. I suspect you won't be as it's probably smaller than the smallest usable chunk of space. Won't affect the speed of the drive at all left as it is.
