Command and Conquer 4: Tiberium Twilight

Basically the producers at EALA say it's the last game in the Tiberium/Kane verse. There's the FMV teaser trailer, a game mechanics video out on gametrailers.com and a host of beta game pics and unit profiles about.

I for one have always anticipated CNC games more than any other and i've played all the spin offs happily in the comfort of the usual build base, army, mess everything else up macro/micro on the map but i've got a few doubts about this last one in the series.

Apparently, it's not the end of CNC, just the Tiberium/Kane verse.

I'd like to know what anyone else thinks?

Does it contain Vampires and Werewolfs?

If not then I won't be buying it :p

Last Command and Conquer wasn't great but I may buy this just to see how it all ends.

I would like another Generals though.

I won't look forward to it, CnC has been on that donward slope of the cash cow for years. I might look closer when it's released but until then no breath holding here.

Just watched the video and does anyone else think the units look really low-res and a bit crap? Almost looks like it could be a fan made mod in some places :/

Ive been playing the beta and well.......... :(

I bet once the full game is out it will get the classic C&C treatment of 1 poor patch.

Also it doesnt play anything like a classic C&C game.

I heard everyone at EALA were retiring rich after C&C4 shipped.

Fix'd. They're squeezing the last out of a franchise long-since hollowed by profiteering gluttons. They're just reaching into the really dark places of the goose to see if there's any hint of golden egg left, then they'll leave the carcass on the roadside to hawk their next big money spinner.

I'm not even going to look into it. After hearing that there's no base building, just a walking all in one building that respawns when you die, so its not even possible to lose. I've lost total interest in it because of that. Annoyingly, SupCom2's done the same with their ruining of the economy... Not a good time for RTSs :(

arnt all the devs getting sacked once its finished? wouldnt exactly make me particularly motivated to churn out a classic

I agree, some of the units look pathetic. The Avatar has crayola crayons for cannons and the MKII that I loved in Tib Sun just looks like a cardboard box with legs. It also looks far too cartoonesque á la Red Alert 3. I was hoping for a darker outlook towards the artwork being as Tiberium and war has all but pretty much killed off the human race.

The release date is March 2010, so it's not like they've got a whole load of time to change things. At the very most a few units will get a facelift like the Avatar. Apparently there was such a uproar about those cannons, that the designers actually listened and are redesigning it. I'll still get it of course purely for the storyline, but the rest looks like it will stay unfortunately. I'm keeping my fingers crossed in any event.

used to be my favourite series but RA3 was just so so bad.....do they not have some kind of quality control who check the products ? surely they could have just looked at the graphics and realised nobody had really done any work.

i was playing red alert 2 the other night, thinking how great it still is! not played C&C red alert 3 though.. maybe i'll give it a miss. havent really played any c&c game after generals (which i really enjoyed!) what happened to westwood?
