Nice, thanks! Those avatars are amazing units... I managed to wipe out the entire base with 2 stealthed, beamed, flamed, detecting ones. :) They are even better when ranked up.

yea, medium is pretty tough... I keep getting wasted by the nuke/ion cannon.

There's no real way I can find to stop it :(

You cannot repair garrison buildings afaik

i dont get how they can build so many buildings and so quick?

i built an MCV up asap to send to another tiberium field and it got destroyed as soon as it got there... sent a unit up to find out what had happened and there were 5 advanced laser towers etc there already!!! was empty 30s earlier....

I don't like the idea of the garrison buildings :(

esp on that skirmish map, the primary objective seems to just be create loads of troops and storm the place as quick as possible.

I really liked the original C&C better.

I used to be a big C&C fan but I personaly dont think there is much more on offer in this game apart from very nice graphics.

I just feel boxed in and to close to the map and confined after playing the demo, I guess after playing (and loving) Supreme Commander for its massive maps and ability to zoom in or out how far I like does'nt help much either.

Also there did'nt feel like much tactics involved just seemed very boring and mundane clicking with very nice visual's.

I dont think its much if any an improvement over C&C General's and I still feel that Red Alert 2 was/is the best.

Agreed. There are not really that many units, unless the demo has cut-down GDI units? It really limits the range of tactis, and superweapon rushing can destroy an whole base... Atleast in TAspring (in sup com too?) you can get antinukes.

whats your current skirmish build order?
Get surveyors to tiberium around the map, tib refinery, war factory, apc's to surveyor posts, tib refinery's at posts, command post, tech center, mammoths, game over.

The use of shortcuts is a must.

Where's everyone downloading the demo from ,I've tried both gamershell and gamespot(with paid account) and my connection gets reset everytime after about 60 to 70%. :(

Torrent, didnt take long at all.

And what a simply amazing demo. So much so that I went and ordered C&C the last decade to give me something to mess about with untill this is released.

After playing SupCom though, I cant help but keep trying to zoom out every few seconds.

lol i put it on medium turtle mode

and well

they built a base just short of my tiberium

then i got ion cannon'd

then i nuked myself

good times

lol. the ion cannon is a hell of a lot better than it used to be. i dont actually miond being GDI now. in the old days the only advantage to being GDI was mammoth tanks. But now they are far superior.

I finally beat it in Medium turtle. I was lucky tho, they didn't nuke me. :) I wonder if an ion cannon would take out the nuke launcher with good aim?

This is what i did. Build power station, then barracks... start building machinegunners as soon as you can. While these are building, build a refinery. Send all the men into the middle and garrison as many buildings as you can which helps defind yer base.

Then build an outpost, then a tech lab. You can now build the ion cannon launcher, so do it as soon as you can.

Then I build a war factory, and the rest of the gubbins, and send mammoths along with surveyor when you want to find more tiberium...

When you can train snipers, put them in as many buildings as possible, along with rocket guys. The snipers take out the flame troops before they can get to the building. The rocket guys take out aircraft and vehicles, and the snipers can see the stealthed units. :)
