Recently reinstalled this and playing via the "First Decade" compilation pack and 1.03 patch. Hugely enjoying myself and currently about half way through the NOD campaign. However is it just me, or did Westwood code the AI with a huge unfair advantage even cheating when it comes to resources and production? On at least a couple of levels now I've either captured or destroyed the enemy construction yard and tiberium refinery. However despite this supposedly starving the opposition of cash the AI continues to churn out vehicles and troops from the respective structures until these too are captured and/or destroyed.
I therefore don't feel much hestitation in using the old sandbag ploy to either "box in" their base or in later levels move defense platforms closer. I know it's a bit of an exploit which of course was no longer available in Red Alert but it kind of redresses the balance.
I'm also finding enemy grenadiers far more accurate and lethal than I remember!
Still a great game to play through again - it's probably 15 years or so since I last played the original and it's fantastic getting it working on Win 7, the only artefacts being the video playback having some distortion and instant scrolling of the map preventing fine positioning.
