Comments On Console Games & Hardware's State

I haven't seen Zefan in these parts for ages. Though, he has stopped using this forum a lot due to time constraints from what I've read.

There just isn't enough of an interest in this forum from OCuK, for them to really bother with it.

Example: Hardware e.t.c are closely modded, as it provides some what of an income. The GD also as it's the main focal point, but this, mobile phones and motors / entertainment to some extent just gets left alone as they're very none OCuK related.

Which I guess is fair, but would be nice to have some of the regulars from here, to have some sort of power in modding these forums. But I can't see that happening any time soon.
 
I don't like to call anyone an idiot or moronic (I guess I flamed somebody then :() but he takes the cake, eats it, poops it out and eats it again.
 
I'm still here!

Been working lots recently, spending all my days off either at home (Swindon, i.e. with family and not on PC) or going through the RAF selection process.

I shall be more active in the next month or so, but after that I'll most likely disappear completely until Christmas.

as said if you can pass on the info about a possible console specific don, that said it's not as bad as some make out in here
 
Back on topic... as already said, everyone can play a part by self-moderating when posting stuff or replying to threads. There's no need to have to have someone tell you what's right and what's wrong. The trolls and the flame-baiters only do it because they get a reaction. If people don't bite, they'll get bored and will go and post in GD instead.

I don't know what the average age of posters in CG&H is, but sometimes it seems fairly low to me, at least it seems lower than the PC section and definitely lower than the Linux & Open Source area - the sections I tend to spend most time in.

The Linux area, in particular, hasn't had a Don post there for like er.... forever. Yet we all seem to get along. Despite the fact that there's the potential for flame wars over which distro is better, should you go Gnome or KDE or xfce, etc... Maybe it's because there's no cost involved in switching distros or desktop environments, whereas people in CG&H have splashed a lot of money on their choice of console and don't want to feel they've made the wrong decision.

At the end of the day, though, I couldn't really care less what someone thinks about the fact my family doesn't own either a 360 or a PS3 but that we do have a Wii. I'm happy with it, we enjoy it, so who cares what someone on some forum that I'll never meet in real life says about it?
