I will be intersted to see the overall medal tally from the home nations. Hopefully the total will be more than Australia, I will be happy then.

I watched a bit of cycling early this morning but, sadly, due to work commitments I have been unable to catch the Rugby Sevens, I hope there are highlights later tonight.

Damm the english. They got up in the rugby by 2 points :(
Don't worry the way the full team are playing at the moment, you will get your revenge in next years world cup. :(

Damm that slow website for not updating it quick enough :(
It is now 11:45pm in Melbourne so that should be all of todays events done :)

The 7's team is very strong (They have won 2 of the 4 legs so far of the world series) and Mike Friday and Phil Greening are excellent coaches, but we are set to meet Fiji (They have won the other 2 legs of the world series) in the semis if all the games go by form from now on. I suspect that game will decide the Gold Medal and at the mo it's to hard to call

Incidently from the 12 in the 7's squad I would have Tait, Varndell, Lund and Seymour all in my 15s matchday 22. They are the players who should be getting experience and leading the way for us for WC07, but obviously Andy Robinson knows better

Well done to Wales also who have made the 7's quarters.

How do you rate NZ i this year's sevens? I know they won it last time out. Fiji are always strong and look good, but my patriotism predicts we can beat them :D

NZ haven't been as good this year as in the past, they lye a distant 4th in the IRB series and have been struggling for consistency. They also seem to have made the mistake of breaking up their world series squad by bringing in some of their 15s boys. I think they'll get to the final (They play Canada in the Quarters and I suspect South Africa in the Semis) but it'll be either us or Fiji for the Gold (Heart says England, Head says Fiji :( )

Englands core squad have been training and playing together since December and seem to have a style they feel comfortable with and when it clicks they are on fire with skills and speed in all positions across the paddock. I also feel they see these games as a warm up for the 30th Hong Kong Sevens at the end of March.

I'm looking forward to getting down to Twickenham for the London leg of the series on 3rd/4th June.

Anyone watch the Rugby 7s this morning. What a superb game Samoa v Englan d was, it looked a bit worrying but we managed to pull a late try out of the bag. Top four seeds through (England, Australia, NZ and Fijii), medal playoff are going to be belters, 8:30, 8:50 and around 10am.

Guess who might not go to work until late morning today? :p

What a fantastic demolition of the Fijians that was, thought we were doomed after the start, but they didn't get a look in after that :D

NZ Eng final at 10:50 this morning

Friday and Greening really have done a good job on drilling this team, they never seem to panic! supurb!!

Hey Robinson take a look, an England Rugby team that is well drilled, balanced and plays with pace and flair, take a hint!
