First one has a good background. I'd just suggest trying to make the case look part of the image, if you know what I mean? At the moment it's just....[I]there[/I].

Also, I think a better font choice for the rig titles would improve it as well.

only a small change (Lines etc at the bottom)

Not sure why it appears smaller... oh well. I tried, never used photoshop for anything other than making basic sigs so be nice :P
 
I do like yours Johnathan, it achieves that 'epic' feel very well especially without the aid of actual images of Aliens/Predators.

Good work.
