assuming you spend 7 hours doing it (an average working day) and get £300 for 1 days work - that would equate to £78,000 a year after tax.
Thats a little over £120,000 a year before tax
and you think his cheap ??? LOL

Tell that to someone who does it for a living.
Your maths leaves some questioning as well even if you assume you work 365days a year, gross is only £109500
Here's my first design. It's not exactly to spec but I can easily throw in the details etc. Its really rough, the outlines of the mouths are very crude and the highlights too. Missed a letter out of my sweary too!
You're 2 copyright concerns will be the font and the tower images. I could use your images, but it would have just taken me longer to clean the photos up to a level I was happy to mock with.
Simple but very effective, really nice, look forward to see the ammendments you have planned m8.
A free idea for someone on the Predator side of things.
Incorporate the Pred vision modes to "scan" a tower and split it into 3/4/5 sections of vision. Could highlight alien blood splatters or "alien blood" liquid in the water cooling (if it has any), heat signatures from the Heatsinks, HDDs etc, wires/electrical flow in one of the other modes etc etc.
You get the idea

But to be for real Gibbo you just undermined someone by telling them that graphic designers dont earn much...not really a good thing to say since your advertising a graphic design job lol.
£300 is around the right price for contract design.

Flawed competetion is flawed. I thought this was a general competition open to the public and.... normal people, but in your own words you basically just want a professional without the hassle of hiring.
Which is a shame because i am sure there are plenty of non 'professionals' around here who would love a crack, but sadly dont have eerily accurate drawings of AvP laying around.
There are non-professionals having a crack. Nothing is stopping them from having a crack. It's a good damn competition - not charity. If you got the skills you might win, god forbid you might have to do some work for it!
Sure there are plenty of royalty free character sketches/drawings/renders available for use also. Also as just demonstrated, you might win without even a character...just some effective outlines and a hint to the topic...

Umm, no. It's a competition to win a case, not the job in OCUK currently advertised.
However if anyone thinking of applying for the job were to submit an awesome design, I'm sure it wouldn't do their chances any harm
