I already have to add a usernote, email the member and depending on what its for get other dons to agree before making the suspension / ban.

Having a wall of shame would increase the time I have to spend modding.

It is not practicle and not anyone elses buisness really.

If you want to know about something email a don and they can explain the rule broken to you if you wish to use the list for this purpose. :)

They started selling them a couple of days ago, no doubt they will change their pricing and bundles in due course. :)

I'm going to walk around the local supermarket tomorrow with a big banner advertising another big chain, wonder if security will chuck me out
 
No I did not say that. ;)

Under the old unclear rulings with some sites it was ok to mention them if you were talking about them selling cabbages, yet if you mentioned that they sold a product OcUK stock or a product in competition with a OcUK range then it was not allowed.

It is now much clearer with the majority of these sites now just having a straight ban on being mentioned.

Yup, now is the time to make it clear to everyone. :)

Goes to everyone if you need something cleared up like "is the pie shop down the road a competitor?" just email me asking and I will get back to you as soon as I can even if it is a short answer. :) (The pies would be nice aswell. ;))

Does that mean Rotty gets banned for mentioning two obvious competitors?

No, we are currently considering if these are classed as a competitor or not. There has not been enough time to cover all the angles that have arose from OcUK stocking a new product line yet. I have removed the comments to avoid confusion.
 
You could always sticky a list of the sites that we are not allowed to mention :p

I have only just noticed that OCUK have started to sell the new generation of consoles. I will say, fair enough, if the pricing is competitive I am happy to buy from you. I know the level of advice I get from OCUK is infinitely greater than most other retailers anyhow. Best of luck with the console stuff guys.
 
I really can't see why certain members have a problem with this.

The plain fact of the matter is that this is the forum of OcUK, an online hardware retailer, therefore it would be quite obvious that the mentioning of names of any other businesses that sell similar products would not be admitted.

Deal with it and stay, don't deal with it and leave, simple.
Obviously there's bound to be the odd slip-up or faux pas now and again.

I think I will end up worried if I wanted to chat about work in GD because its a supermarket.. I think there will be basicly NO retail store/shop allowed to be mentioned at all.
 
So basically a banner ad on a website is a no no, banner adds are on a cycle, one minute it could be a banner about 'dating' next minute 'OMGZCOMPETITOR!!!' etc.

I am sorry, but I agree with Spie and OcUK

The rules are their for us to follow, if you can not follow simple rules, you do not belong here, simple as that...

I can only thank Spie and the crew for having these forums in the first place.
