Complaining neighbours

Bloody southerners as well, no respect
A slight generalisation  Inconsiderate ******** come from all over, as do considerate people. I like to think I am a very considerate neighbour.

Fancy a move up North?

ok, ill add one of my points. When I was working 6am-2pm shifts i would get home and have a sleep before going out for a few drinks. However my house (non uni) is almost opposite a school.

All i could hear was the screaming and playing sounds of children when on afternoon break and when they went home. That was worse than any music, like a constant background whining in my head.

Any chance of me complaining to the council to turn them off or down?

Was the school there before or after you moved in?

I found my local coucil to be very helpful when dealing with loud neighbours. Had a lot of problems in previous years with a couple who enjoyed loud parties until 3AM during the week so I had contacted my councils noise pollution people and within the hour they'd been out and went to their door. Haven't heard much out of them since other than the odd party at the weekend, which I don't mind as much.

Another case was a local business that decided to use his hose to wash his car at 2 AM (was a garage) so everyone could hear it. Phoned up the council and within the hour they'd been out and warned him he needed a license to operate after 7 PM, which not many people realise.

Still got hastle with upstairs neighbours and their young son but there's nothing you can do about it really when kids are at that age. Will no doubt be a problem when he's playing football in the back garden but hopefully I'll have moved before then (I had problems with next doors kids playing football in the back and kicking the ball against my window).

No chance I expect. If you need to sleep then white noise (electric fan) and earplugs should do the trick.

That's why I would never get a flat unless it was on the top floor.
