complete format software

hey there,

im selling a hard drive and i want to completely format it as it has some of my documents on there,

what is the best program to use to format the drive entirely back to its factory state?

DBAN

Just make sure it's the only drive in the PC when you run it to make sure you nuke the right drive.

killdisk is a good one also, i tried dban and it wouldn't boot with 4gb so i found killdisk and stuck with it ever since.

second that but do make sure its only hdd plugged in(been there done that !!!), if you type quick it does quick wipe works for me everytime ok

Either you do it properly and run DBAN or other program or you just use Windows format. Seriously tho if you are really worried and have highly secret document run a full DBAN to DOJ standard if you don't need it don't spend the time on it.
