No, i have no idea what that is. i meant that the gpu can connect and also a hard drive can connect with pcie5. I just wanted these to both be connected via pcie 5 so the whole setup lasts longer.
The board has one PCIE 5.0 M.2 slot and the primary slot is PCI-E 5.0, so yes, that is possible. But, like I said, unless you know you need the PCI-E 5.0 drive (e.g. regular large file copies), they're not needed and won't do anything for you.

PCI-E 5.0 graphics might have a benefit in the future, but right now, it is just a few percent loss in performance on a 5090, if you don't have it.

Probably not then. It is primarily for gaming. I just felt that maybe it could do with an upgrade from 32.
I'd be aware that DDR5 systems don't much like running 4 sticks, so if you think you'll need it (some games can push it, particularly modded games and city builders) then I would buy it now.

So taking on board what everyone has kindly suggested, I will go with this:

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,223.89 (includes delivery: £7.99)

Hopefully there are no conflicts here. I will maybe change the colour of things as i need to try and visualise what it looks like but all i need to do is order a gpu at a later date.

The TUF Gold is on offer quite a lot, worth a thought.

The T500 is currently just £100 for 2TB, which I think is very good value for a high-end drive.

My opinion is that you're likely to get better long-term value from putting the extra £100 into 64GB of memory, than you will from a PCI-E 5.0 drive, but I know not everyone would agree.

psu makes sense. I'll keep the ssd but swap the ram anyway as i'll be cheaper on graphics.

In terms of graphics. I was going to get the 5080 but im now thinking of the 9070xt after you mentioned it. I will be getting a monitor but i also want to hook it up to my 65 oled. what would be the minimum gpu i would need to achieve this?

many thanks

So due to me changing my mind and trying to get a colour scheme in mind I didnt get around to ordering anything. In the mean time the graphics cards have restocked so ive changed everythng around again just to squeeze a 5080 in the budget.

Does this list look like it would work, I ideally need to save as much as possible. I need 64gb as I play a lot of builders. The only saving would be the MoBo i think.

Again, thanks for all input and help.

Change the case as it does not come with any fans, so you have to add that cost on top.

You have listed a NVME drive with a heatsink, get one without so it will fit under the motherboard plate.

Have also put in a cheaper PSU, but only has 8 year warranty compared to the MSI 10 years.

Examples.

Here is an alternative spec to save.

If you like the cube style case, maybe look at Antec's C5 ARGB, which includes 7x 120mm fans.

You could go B650 and save a bit more, but B840 should have BIOS support out of the box, if you don't like updating.

The memory is slow, but the performance loss with the X3D is relatively small. You could likely get something better for not a whole lot more, so shop around.

I'd suggest the 9070 XT as already mentioned, but here's a 5070 Ti if not.

plenty of cases with rgb fans in them if you want that aren't as expensive as the tuf case...and tuf case be fine with an air cooler..it's another take on the 011d, which i have with an air cooler and looks fine. I'd just say goldfish bowl type suit rgb more than standard cases as the idea is you look inot them

I'd take a b650 board over a b840...b840 is an a620 chipset so can't enable pbo as no cpu overclocking...you enable pbo in bios...literally turn it on and done so no messing around.
