How do you guys dedicate yourself to completing a game? I think im one of the worst people at buying a game playing it for say 2-3 days (not all in one go obviously) but then never going back to it! Or I end up buying a new game. E.G Bioshock came out then oh release of TFC2 (portal etc) so I never went back to Bioshock.

The only games I can think of that ive completed are (not in order)
Hostile Waters
Hitman Blood money
Max Payne 1 and 2
Prey
HL1
Hl2
Portal
COD2
COD4
Peggle
Wow – think I got to level 29 and couldn’t be bothered to carry on

& more which I cant remember!

So how do you guys do it?

I only never complete a game if it is just carp or ridiculously frustrating or difficult. Only exception is Quake 4 i've just never bothered to complete it.

I see a lot of my friends buying a new game then thrashing it to death for 3 or 4 days for 12hrs at a time solid. I prefer to take my time and enjoy the 'experience'.

I rarely complete a game. I usually play to around 75% of it before I grow bored and move on.

Notable exceptions are what I consider to be landmark games; Oblivion, Half Life, Baldurs Gate, Final Fantasy, Bioshock etc. I'll probably play them through two, sometimes three times.

I do this

only games I've completed in the last 3 years or so is COD4 and Portal lol, im not really a massive games player despite having many games...

I'm terrible at completing games, doesn't help that i work away from home so only get the weekends. I've only completed Bioshock on the Xbox and i have about 15 games on it. Can't remember the last time i completed a PC game, it's probably HL2 when i was at Uni!

I try my best to finish games i play but some just get very repetative.

Comp: In the last few years, (off the top of my head)
Cod1, UO, Cod2, CoD4, DuesEx, Half LIfe 1, 2, Ep1, Ep2, Portal, FarCry, Crysis, Quake 4, Unreal 2, SoF2, Prey, Stalker, Bioshock, Sin Ep1, Blacksite, MoH airborne

Bored of,
Assasins creed, doom 3, Fear, Arm A, Call of Juarez, Any GTA, Gears of War, Oblivion, Frontlines,

cant think of any others, mostly play games you cant really complete, BF2, 2142, UT, TF2, DoD.

Gotta admit I'm really bad for this. Can never complete long games, but fun short ones I always play through again meaning I spend even longer on them:confused::D

Max Payne 2 completed that 3 - ish times, Cod 4 completed that 2 ish times, silent hill 2 completed.

Always get side tracked by the online gameplay, cant really remeber playing through a campaign on a PC. Just BF2 online and various other multiplayers.

im terrible for not completing games. The only games i have completed in recent memory are crysis, bioshock and supreme commander. Hoepfully i will have *** staying power to complete mass effect as im loving it at the moment.

Bioshock
Max Payne 1
Max Payne 2 (probably 4 times)
Call of Duty 1 (So many times ive lost count, love it)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
PGR3
PGR4
GTA: Vice City
Gears of War (Probably 4 times)

Theres more but thats off *** top of my head

The majority of what I get I play until im sick of them and then trade them in, and due to getting my rentals for free if I get a twitch to go further with them ill just rent them.

My completed games list is huge!

HL2
Ep1
Ep2
The story mode from GTA3/VC/SA/LCS
COD4
Portal

Ok.... maybe not. I just never get round to finishing games. Ive seen the last level of HL, and seen what happens when you complete it, but ive never actually done it myself. Most other games I just get bored of or dont play through due to new releases. I must have started FarCry about 30 times...

Oh yeah, just remembered, as a 'flat' at uni, me and some mates collectively completed Need for Speed Underground 1 and 2, Ninja Gaiden, MarioKart Double Dash, Jet Set Radio and JSR Future, and a load of other stuff. But it wasnt done soley by me, so doesnt count.

For some reason, I have no trouble completing a game (100% even) on a console, but on the PC I tend to leave most of them unfinished.

I only just completed HL2 the other day..

I normally complete 2 to 3 games a month, I try and resist buying a new one until I have finished one, this also acts as a incentive to finish it.
The only games I have come no where near completing are a few RTS titles which you can not just dip in and out of and just because I have so little time so they will just sit on my shelf until I get a week (or at least a weekend) totalltyfree so that I can dedicate some quality time on them

I do this. If i don't play a game for a couple of days i forget plot points etc and where i am/what i was doing. If i play it all in one straight go then i find it much more enjoyable.

You don't stop watching a movie half way through and save the ending for another day so you can enjoy the experience... why do the same with games? Especially when the majority of games released nowadays have a storyline that amasses to around 8-12 hours playing time.
