Componants don't work??

No!!!

Go for a quality brand.

Corsair, Seasonic, BeQuiet, OCZ & Zalman are quality brand PSU.

Lol, message recieved load and clear. But before I actually go and buy a new PSU are there any checks I need to do to MAKE SURE its the PSU.
All fans spin
All lights light up (except hdd light on front of case)
optical and hard disk drives doent work
GPU does not work (well theres no dvi/hdmi output)

hope that info helped.

Is there another pc which you can try another psu from.

I am still wondering if it is the psu even though it's a cheap unit.

Hmm, even though the psu is a bog standard one, I would at least expect it to boot.

I had a similar issue and stripped the whole lot down to start over, installing the mb, processor and the ram into the case only. Might help you identify if it is a power supply issue and not the motherboard.

Just reassembled everything but to no avail. USB and disk drives still don't respond and neither no GPU output.
So it's either the PSU or the mobo right?
I'll give customer service a call tomoz

yeah its one of them two sorry we can't realy tell which itd hard from text :P
But OC will help just contact them and there give you a RMA number to send the stuff back and there test it for you

Just talked to them today, and they said they can't figure out the problem so im going to have to send it back.
But the thing is I have to pay for postage when they were the ones that messed up. Does that not seem wrong in anyway?

EDIT:

Just had a look at trading standards, and I won't have to pay for postage as the item is faulty.
