Component Upgrades for FF14

Ahh sorry I just noticed that socket support for that fan, that's not good. The one you pointed is pretty decent though, could go for that.

If you think a 2GB card is not worth it then I can just go for a decent 1GB 5850 then.

what resolution do you play at?

im positive that a 1gb card will offer all the performance you need, and 2gb versions are unnecessary

Well i'm running at 1680 by 1050 on this monitor at the moment. Thinking about it I might as well just stick with the 1GB card if I'm mainly going to be running FF14. There isn't really many other PC games that are coming out soon that I will be playing on the rig, mostly console. But I much, much prefer playing an MMO at a decent setting on a PC.

Cheers stulid, I'll take a look around at the 5830's here, there are quite a few models so will see which one I should go for.

Is the "HIS iCooler V ATI Radeon HD 5850 Turbo 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card" a decent 5830 model to go for?

Was trying to pick if i want an ASUS, HIS or Saphire etc.

I hope I don't get too many driver issues :( Never had a problem with nVidia so far, but I heard ATi are quite bad with their catalyst drivers..
