Compression fittings for new system

My current system uses Masterkleer 7/16" ID squeezed over 1/2 barbs. These are very tight and I'm not sure how easy these are going to be to remove. No clamps used.

However, for my new system, I'm thinking of using Compression fittings. I take it that if I choice 1/2" ID compression fittings that i'd only need 1/2" ID tubing rather than the tighter 7/16", which would be pointless?

Here's what I'm looking at :

EK-FC5870 V2 - Plexi (Non Reference ATI 5870)

HEATKILLER® CPU Rev3.0 1366 Water Block

10 x 1/4" BSPP - 1/2" ID - 3/4" OD Compression Fitting

5m of 1/2" ID - 3/4" OD XSPC Blue/UV Blue Hose

Any other combinations or recommendations?

Believe the only other choice you really have is 3/8" 5/8" comp. fittings and tubing, which I use myself and am certainly happy with it, check my sig for pics of the tubing and get an idea of the size/bend radius you can do

Dump the heatkiller and get the EK HF as it performs better, what pump res rad are you going for.

They looks pretty good :)

I already have the rad pump and res :
Dual 750 clear Bay Reservoir with pump
MCR320-QP-K Triple 120mm

However, my original question is the ID tubing size?

Just picked up the EK HF yesterday looks well nice in the flesh :)

I have the same size hose and bitspower Compression Fitting`s i had to import my hose as i wanted it in red and xspc dont make it :/ seen some rigs on XS forums and it looks like it bends well.(xspc hose)

Ek do a nice black 16/12mm compression fitting G1/4 (ID 7/16" OD 5/8") fitting if you wanted to stay with the hose you have now.

1/2" tubing with the 1/2 cf, but make sure the tubing is the right thickness - tubing is either 1/8" thick (so 1/2 id, 3/4" od) or 1/16" thick (so 1/2"id, 5/8" od).

Does the ek hf really outperform the hk 3.0? Just looks like a supreme without impingement to me. Or am i missing something? Anyone have a link to proper testing?

The EK Supreme HF is the current best block you can buy. See review here. It is still a impingement block but has deeper fins in the bottom so is less restrictive than the original. I have just fitted one of these in my loop (black acetal version) and it looks really nice, especially with the black 7/16" compression fittings i got as well. The fact that it fit's all sockets and has two backplates is a massive plus. However, on here it is seriously overpriced. I only paid £51 for the universal version that is £66 on here.

Do not use 7/16" tubing with 1/2" compression fittings. If you want to use 7/16" hose get some 7/16" compression fittings.
