It started some time ago and I have ignored it, but now it just plain annoys me way too much to ignore further.

My computer constantly loses time. I've replaced the motherboard battery and even reinstall Windows 8.

Windows 8 Pro
Asrock Z77 Extreme 6
Core i5 (not overclocked)

Anyone seen this before and know a fix? I only replaced the motherboard about 6 months ago.

Click the button to manually synchronize it. Right click the clock > adjust date / time > internet time tab > change settings button > update now

That is what i constantly have open and click, once the PC has been on long enough eventually it can keep time.

Think this may be an issue with windows 8, the other day I had realised all the PC's in the office that are running windows 8 all had the wrong time, 10-15 minutes too slow or fast.

Read this it may help-

Windows has a built-in "service" that allows your computer to reference an atomic clock server, such as the atomic clock servers operated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States. Your current computer time is compared with the current atomic time and an adjustment is made to keep your local computer up-to-date with the exact time now.

As a work around...Have a read about the registry key "SpecialPollInterval" in Windows 8. You used to be alter its value in previous versions of Windows to force it to poll internet time servers much more frequently than the default. Should still be the case in Windows 8.

Thanks guys, I don't believe it to be a Windows 8 issue - I completely reinstalled at the weekend for another reason and still have the trouble. And going straight into BIOS shows that it is simply has the shutdown time before even hitting the OS.

windows vista, 7 and 8 have this issue, on any mobo/cpu set up. mine typically loses 1-2 mins and i have to manually update, most the time i cant be bothered and just leave it :P

I have windows 7 and this problem. The time keeps getting reset to an exact point in the past. I kept losing time everytime my PC went into standby or was turned off. I'm pretty sure updating your time is not really a solution.

You need to reset the CMOS and it will be fine. I took the battery out for five minutes. I have a different model of asrock 1155.
