Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum and am just getting into building my own pc, so I had a question about some parts.

These are the parts I've decided on (if anyone has any better suggestions for parts im open to them)

Gigabyte GA-P67A-D3-B3 P67 Socket 1155 7.1 Channel HD Audio ATX Motherboard

G.Skill Ripjaw 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit

Sapphire Technology ATI Radeon 6850 HD 775MHz 1GB PCI-Express HDMI

Intel Core i5 2400 3.1GHz Socket LGA 1155 6MB L3 Cache

Corsair 600W CX Series V2 PSU - 6x SATA 2x PCI-E

Now, the question i wanted to ask was about a case. I have an old DELL Dimension 8250 lying around, and was wondering if I could use it's case for my new computer parts rather than spend more money on a new case. If anyone could answer my question I would be much obliged :)

Also, would I need to buy a fan for my new parts? Or do they come with fans built in

Thanks in advance :)

Is crossfire something you want in the future?

Theres a few changes I would do immediately, but I need your answer to the above question first.

Do you have any drives? are they SATA interface?

Whats the budget?

Unlikely, Dell like using non standard layouts meaning you won't be able to fit you new board into it.

As for fans, retail CPUs (excluding the 2011 socket ones) will come with a heatsink/fan.

If I were you I'd get a 2500k OEM and a seperate cooler, such as the Gelid Tranquillo. The 2400 can't be overlcocked at all and the stock heatsink isn't very good.

I'm not sure what you mean by the first question; I don't really know much about computers

And the budget is absolute max £450

Any good for you?

• Z68 board has more features than a P67 board (SSD cacahing/Lucid Virtu and Quicksync)
• You can overclock the "K" cpu.

Reviews of the board,

Looks good, and thanks very much for your help; but when i said a £450 budget i was thinking of maybe slightly less than £450. Is there even a slightly cheaper spec that you would recommend?

I suppose you could downgrade the CPU to a non "K" varient and so it cant be overclocked, but still keeping the good motherboard for future upgrades of CPU's that do overclock?

To be honest, I don't think I will be overclocking my cpu at any point, but if there isnt much difference in price between an overclocking cpu motherboard and a non-overclocking cpu motherboard I guess i may as well go for the better motherboard if it will benefit me in the long run

Tomorrow morning:(

But come back and double check the spec, something usually pops up on weekly deals which change Wednesday.
