Jesus, £900 for a chair?
The IKEA Markus is a good shout though.
I know it's a ****-ton of money for a chair but honestly it's like sitting on air.
Just think how long you spend in it if you do a desk-job and/or sit at a desk at home to use a computer.
If you can get a £900 chair for £200 second hand it starts to sound like a much better deal.
Even at £900 you're getting a 10-year guarantee on the chair. It works out as less than £100 a year (and that's assuming it goes plonk at the end of the 10th year, which is unlikely).
Strikes me as very good value for money, especially seeing as £100-£150 chairs tend to need replacing anywhere from every 1-3 years and are often made from inferior parts and materials.
I doubt it, but then my Aeron is pretty advanced in its age now, gets used throughout the week and beyond a few scuffs on the arm rests looks and feels as good as new to sit on.
As long as you're not writhing around on it in leather studded pants, you should be ok.

Why order a massively outdated chair? there are much better designs out there these day which are much more ergonomically friendly.
The front lip on the Aeron is poor as its known to cut off blood to the legs, it has no active lumbar support. The list goes on, it's a very poor chair in that price range by today's standards.
I use the itoki spina which second hand can be had for less than that, although they are hard to find.
As others have mentioned thinks like humanscale freedom, steel case leep V2, steelcase gesture if you can spot one as they are now out so not likely to be many second hand ones about etc. Even the Herman miller embody at £450ish that would be around ebay prices.
A lot of the ones suggested just wouldn't support my weight
Thing is, I'm not looking for some super chair of awesomeness and well, my budget is a budget for a reason, I can't afford more atm. It's not like I'm any heavier now than I've been in the past and my last chair lasted me since 2007, I'd just get the same again if I knew what it was called tbh
Any run of the mill Argos £40 chair would be more comfortable than the one I'm using atm though am willing to spend a bit more for one that's likely to last a bit longer. Also the arm rests are often an issue, as if they don't curve til before the end I can't use the keyboard on my lap ;p I've never heard of anyone using their keyboard like that but for me I've always done it, and say on a typing test for me it's a result of 110wpm used on desk and 145 wpm if used on my lap ;p
So it's less a "let me go google a chair for you", but if people here use one they think might suit my needs I'd appreciate recommendations

Is there a big difference between the first leap and v2?, seems to be a lot more of the first versions about.

There will be a lot more of the v1 as its been on the market a lot longer.
As stated there the main differences are the arm alterations and back support. If there is only a small price difference between the two it's worth getting the V2. If you are looking at £100+ I would say no as that's a large percentage of the second hand price.

I'm not saying those exact buys but in that price range you can not beat them.
You can see just by looking at them that they are of better build quality than the usual fair. But they are 'operator' type office chairs, where I want something like a Kashmir, an 'executive' type chair. To put it another way, I want luxurious, not just ergonomic.
So do any of these premium chair brands make executive / manager type chairs to a similar standard?
