Off topic. What's your first impressions of the case. It's the one I have my eye on for my next case.
Shall I short them, then plug the Power switch back in and try again?
Just short them quickly, it replicates what a push of a power switch does.
Is there any life at all? a light, movement of fan blade?
Stupid question time, I am assuming this but just in case -
The cable from the PSU to the top of the Mobo, the 4 pin, did it reach ok or have you had to use an extension? If you had to get an extension maybe try it without.
Mine didn't reach, but then its not a Corsair, and I would imagine Corsair would make their cables long enough considering its their own case.
Two sets of cabling, one longer? You haven't used the GPU power cable to the CPU have you?
I have tried socket from wall, following that I tried a different kettle lead. I have taken out all drives and only have one stick of ram in. Still no boot.
You pull all the connectors out and stick the paper clip in the ends of the pins in the blocks. then check to see if the PSU lives.
