Computer issue! Please read

Off topic. What's your first impressions of the case. It's the one I have my eye on for my next case.

Not a problem - Massive, absolutely massive. Looks great and a real quality build Corsair put a lot of effort in to this. I will tell you more when I can turn the bloody thing on xD.

Just short them quickly, it replicates what a push of a power switch does.

Is there any life at all? a light, movement of fan blade?

That didn't do anything I am afraid. No life and there hasn't been any life at all. Those two pins at the back coming from the bay wouldn't have anything to do with it would they? I am assuming no.

The case features a fan controller, this takes a molex connection from the PSU, and gives you three fan connectors to plug the case fans into, which is then controlled by the knob.

Instead of using an extension lead, plug it directly into the wall.

Stupid question time, I am assuming this but just in case -

The cable from the PSU to the top of the Mobo, the 4 pin, did it reach ok or have you had to use an extension? If you had to get an extension maybe try it without.

Mine didn't reach, but then its not a Corsair, and I would imagine Corsair would make their cables long enough considering its their own case.

Not a silly question at all. Well one of the cables I got with the PSU was actually long enough then I tried the slightly shorter one and I still haven't got any response from anything in my computer.

Time for the basics,

You dont need drives connected to boot the sytem up to BIOS.

You only need one stick of RAM.

Two sets of cabling, one longer? You haven't used the GPU power cable to the CPU have you?

I have tried socket from wall, following that I tried a different kettle lead. I have taken out all drives and only have one stick of ram in. Still no boot.

The PSU comes with two ATX12V/EPS cables, for those motherboards that need two 8pin ATX in them.

He said he split it into two 4pins, hope he was right.

That would be near enough impossible and no I haven't. I have used the split 8-pin cable with two 4pins and used one of the four pins to power the CPU.

Sahara mentioned the "paper clip trick" Google it.

Also, and this has been seen before, try the PSU switch in the "0" off position.

It is on the stand offs. I have tried the 0 position and wouldn't the paper clip trick be tricky as my cables are braided? Beginning to think I have some DOA on my hands :/

You pull all the connectors out and stick the paper clip in the ends of the pins in the blocks. then check to see if the PSU lives.
