Computer laggy after new cpu

Seems to be running fine for now. Last 30 mins on youtube. Temp is at 35-40. Guess it wasnt fited properly?
Will see tomorrow.
Thanks for the help everyone. Really appreciated.

The reason i always assumed it was seated properly was because i have installed the same type of heatsinks many many many times and i had never had a problem.

Glad it's sorted and yeah i thought it sounded dreadfully similar to how a overheating cpu would act glad it's sorted hopefully have no more issues from now.

The Intel stock coolers can be a pain to fit properly and sometimes come loose over time due to vibrations if they arent fitted 100% properly. If you get problems again then buy something better :)

Some CPU's will shut off at 105C it should not have caused any damage but cpus do tend to be more comfortable at lower temps in comparison with gpus. The main problem with heat and voltage in cpus is that it can degrade their long term life span however as i mentioned a second ago this short burst of heat should not have caused any long term issues.

EDIT : Just checked and yes that cpus TjMax is 105C so you really should have no problem :)
