Computer or ps3?

Yes I am mad. I have serious mental problems but you're still wrong.

The amplifier is built into the sub, as are the Creative 5.1 and 7.1 sound systems. The Edifier is the best speaker system sold by OCUK.

A standalone amp and speakers are far superior to these "sound systems" which are sold for PC's and consoles, it's mad to buy these systems when you can get separates for almost the same price which will handle all your audio devices.

I would have expected better from a fellow social anxiety sufferer.

What is that even supposed to mean? You expect my technical knowledge to be affected by anxiety?

console gaming was around looong before pc gaming

call of duty is in a generic rut at the moment, i agree but why do you not think that would have happened anyway? That is kind of the problem with all entertainment media at the moment.

piracy is so so rife on the pc at the moment - i dunno if you read the interview with crytec after crysis on the pc but i remember they said that that would be the last pc exclusive they worked on due to the %age of people who just copied it.

things have kind of gone a full circle imo, we started off with games consoles and gaming computers, then in the 90's the PC had their heyday (starting with the likes of wing commander imo) basically because they were so so much more powerful than the consoles amd gaming computers like the ST/Amiga of the time.

the PS1 arrived which frankly embarrassed expensive PC hardware, but was hit back with the likes of the 3dfx voodoo a year or so later and pcs got their crown back.

PC's now are STILL more powerful than consoles, however the gap is fairly small after it all comes out of the wash (after taking into account a bloated OS and backwards compatibility & an infinite number of hardware configs holding the pc back)

but imo until piracy is stemmed on the pc, i do not think you will see many pc exclusives unless they are pay monthy games like iracing or WOW.

lool piracy affects both pc and consoles exactly the same...
for my ps2 i think i owned 1 original game... the rest were all copies

also explain why battlefield 3, although it isnt an exclusive
is getting more resources put into its development on pc that 360/ps3..
pc is getting high mp player counts n better everything else...
they know were the real money is

but unlike console gamers

we dont buy crappy games make a crap game or 2 not many will buy another
make a brilliant game pc gamers will remain loyal.. look at valve for example

valve didnt make there money on consoles... now look were they are

Consoles gaming has its place same as PC gaming, which is why I have both depending on the game I'm playing.

Playing games like Fifa 11 on a PS3 is a much better experience, far more people online and easy to play friends and family in the comfort of my living room on the sofa. Where as games like Bad Company 2 and other FPS are much more enjoyable on the PC.

Sorry but rubbish!, up untill 3-4 months ago piracy on the ps3 was not even possible. Show me some stats showing ps3 piracy is as rife as on the pc and i will concede the point, I can show plenty that show the opposite
http://gametheoryonline.com/2010/08/30/console-piracy-pc-game-pirate/

to quote part of it "PC versions of such illegal torrents “often five or ten times higher than the console versions” according to a recent study"

Good for you but 1 tree does not make a forest, more people download hacks than mod their console, and it was not until late in the life of the ps2 that you could run copied games without opening up your console and soldering, this will put a lot of people off.

I am NOT saying consoles are better than pc or that some titles are not aimed primarily at pc, some games on the pc ARE better than on their console equivalents, but to say there is more money in making pc games GENERALLY than console games (aside from monthly subscription ones) is plain inaccurate and until you can show me 1 study that says otherwise i am convinced you are wrong.

What is with the judgements and stereotypes..... who are these "we" people?

you seem to be under this miss comprehension that console gamers are unable to operate a pc. I said it before and will say it again, if you look at it objectively each gaming platform has their place.

There are other consoles you know...

The Xbox 360 has high piracy figures, as does the Wii. Don't know about the handhelds, but the PS3 is (sorry, was) alone in that piracy was not possible.

ok so lets see some stats to back up that console software as a whole is pirated as much as pcs please... I think you will struggle as i do not think such stats exist due to it not being true.

BUT i was using the ps3 as that is what the thread title is refering to. (The PS3)

Oh yeah, 'cause discussion of piracy was what this thread was created for...

Care to explain how you'd come up with reliable figures for piracy anyway? It's not like every time someone illegally downloads something a counter somewhere increments - unlike game sales there's no transaction - nothing to count. They are estimates at best.

And there were figures published somewhere that showed console piracy was fast approaching PC piracy (considering modded consoles are required for piracy), though I suspect with the advent of the PS3 being hacked, it will be but a matter of time before the consoles outstrip the PC by a ridiculous margin.

On top of that, you (and many games companies making lame excuses) make it sound like everyone on the PC pirates every game. Hardly.
