Computer or ps3?

If you didn't know I already made my choice.

Nah you’ll get a PS3 to compliment your new gaming rig in 6 months time… PS3 has some fantastic gaming exclusives. No reason to limit your options, but a gaming PC to start with will get you access to an amazing catalog of fantastic games..

You’ll have a lot of fun with it, good luck with spec’ing your components and the build. Remember, the guys on here know their stuff, they can advise you on your purchases so ask them to look over your spec once you have one, they’ll put you on the right track..

I know that i've been on the forum for almost 6 months now

I would personally say that if you could only have one, I'd go for a PS3 (+/- a nice monitor if you don't already have a HDTV). PS3's are still very good and will be for another couple of years at least. Be sociable and get gaming with your mates, its much more fun than playing random people online. Yes PC will offer better visual graphics and often gameplay too, but also consider what type of games your into, I found games like Fifa, Gran Tursimo or other driving games are more fun on the PS3.

Remember you don't have to spend the full £1100 to get a decent gaming pc, something like AMD Quad Core paired with a £100 gpu would be enough to run 90% of games at high (if not highest settings). In total you should be able to do it for about £500, then maybe your parents will be more willing to let you get a PS3 in the near future (and/or upgrade your PC). Blow £1100 on a top end PC now and I'm sure your parents won't be too forthcoming when it comes to upgrades, nevermind a PS3.

At your age ps3 definately better, All your mates have them. Get your parents to buy you a nice 32" TV and a PS3, youl find when you get into year 11/6th form more people will start gaming on PC's when their not getting drunk so just put the rest aside until then.

Depends what type of games you want to play. For all intents and purposes RTS are non-existent on consoles, and there has been some brilliant ones over the past few years, eg Dawn of War, Company of Heroes, Supreme Commander, many games released on consoles are far far better on the PC, eg Oblivion (soon skyrim) and Fallout 3. Keyboard and Mouse are much better for FPS games and multiplayer is a lot better, dedicated servers vs laggy P2P, no contest. Games are far cheaper and controllers don't cost £50.

That FPS are better on keyboard and mouse is not always true. I love my Xbox controller and sometimes use it on PC. If you have a decent internet connection console's are great to play online.

If doesn't matter if you have a decent internet connection if the person hosting the game has a crap connection, or they quit and the game is delayed while the host is changed and the map resets. I personally have never found the analogue stick to be anywhere near as precise.

Then you clearly wernt any good with it, IF youve got the best connection your normally the host. My connection isnt great and lag is a rarity for me.

Then you clearly wernt any good with it,

What on earth is that supposed to mean?

The matchmaking process is entirely automatic, no matter how good the hosts connection is someone can start downloading on their connection and the game is ruined. Regardless of if you have a decent connection.

PC's are superior technology wise....

However PC's lack 1 major thing.... Gran Turismo 5!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jesus christ, who's giving a 12 year old 1100 notes to spend on toys? In my day you were fortunate to get 50p for sweets.

Buy a PS3, you're too young to appreciate a PC and you'll end up filling it with crap/getting viruses.

I was talking about the analog stick part >.<

Because I find the mouse more precise does not mean I'm not very good with the analogue stick, one of the best things about the mouse is that you don't have to move it and then return it to it's original position like a stick. Not to mention that zooming is far more convenient with a single wheel than using two trigger buttons.
