Computer won't post with SSD connected

Did this get fixed ?..... I have the same issue...... got a new Samsung 840Pro to replace my old Crucial SSD..... which has been running as AHCI for a year I guess..... Cloned it and all worked for a few days. Crucial drive removed after.
Today it won't get past the BIOS, hangs on port the 840 is plugged into.....

Change the BIOS back to IDE and it will work...... Put the Crucial back in, it's fine, even when set to AHCI.
Reading above seems the SSD has failed in some way ? Seems pointless to mess with flashing BIOS etc as it works on the old drive.
The Samsung software says the drive is fine..... except not running it's best as it's not on AHCI....

No, seemed little point as it didn't work for gilljoy, and the Crucial SSD still works.
I wanted to reflash the SSD firmware, to reset it's "bios" but as it's up to date so the software won't let you.
I'm thinking to delete the partitions, when in IDE mode, from a boot stick, including the hidden system ones with a partition tool. Then do samsung secure erase to see if it clears and starts from fresh.

Ok fixed it now.... tried the BIOS suggestion, left for half a day with the power off and the jumper moved.... made no difference...

So with the PC in IDE mode ran a Partition wizard and deleted all drives and blitzed the lot on it's reboot.... Then ran the Samsung Magician secure erase from a USB drive and erased again... rebooted into the BIOS and set back to AHCI, reboot..... BINGO BIOS accepted and found the SSD.....
Ran the Secure erase and reset it again, just to be sure !!!

Connected my old Crucial SSD, lucky I hadn't erased it yet !!!!!!...... Booted to Win7 and repeated the Samsung Clone/Migration process....

All is working back to normal...... What is worry is I have no idea why it happen, if it will happen again etc.... which isn't acceptable..... Unless I want to a complete re-install I have to keep my old SSD as back up !?!?!?!

Interesting about the Crucial power cycle method, will try that next time it happens

No, was on a normal shutdown/reboot cycle......... I thought SSD's were more reliable than HD's..... lucky the IDE interface continued to work, so any data could be recovered.
I think Microsoft will be calling me soon, with so many changes to my PC and re activation requests !!!
