and after all that it was my firewalls, anyone who is looking for a clean new server, I have thrown one up. Rates are x5, so basically give you a life outside of the game -

That's nice bishie but that will get slaughtered and annihilated in seconds if your on a pvp server
Only way to build is on a solid rock/cliff/mountain or up on the black structures in the north. Bases at ground level are meat and drink for raiders. Really need tier 2 minimum if your going to build at ground level.

Well, it's fortunate I'm on my own PvE server then! I won't touch PvP with a bargepole, in any game. Far too much exploitation etc.

Quick google;

To start a server with mods you put the mod files (<mod name>.pak) in "<dedicated server folder>/ConanSandbox/Mods/" and add a text file with the file names of those .pak files, one per line

Its not really well implemented yet. If a client tries to join without a mod all they'll get is a message saying they dont have X mod and then get kicked out. No way of linking to mods in steam yet or auto-installing on client end sadly.
 
Can anyone recommend a Server Hosting company please for conan (using survivalservers at the min and not worked for 3 days) need a new one asap
 
Thanks datamonkey went with GTXGaming in the end so far so good. This is my 3rd company so far grr last 2 were a nightmare.
