i always wanted to fly on one as well dont think i ever will now :(

i heard on a normal day they sold like 20 tickets for concorde and the other day they sold 1000, hmmmm maybe they will extend its life just a little longer heh ;)

I was planning on going to New York in November (not by Concorde) for 4 days as a surprise 30th Birthday present for my girl friend. However, after reading this New York Travel Notes Review it has kind of put me off.

For anyone that has been to New York – would 4 days too short a trip for someone that hasn’t been to NY before ?? All we plan to do is browse the shopping mals, restaurants and tourist areas (Empire State Building etc)

To see all of New York, you need years, not days. 4 days will be enough to see a lot of the tourist areas but not all, it's always so busy. If you can, pre book your tickets to the big attractions, this way you can walk right by the queues and stroll in, it is generally cheaper than paying on the door too. Resterants are the same again, pre book the good ones, some of them have to be done months in advance

And NEVER i repeat NEVER let your wife near 5th avenue, you will lose, especially Harry Winston's  "oh that looks nice" whenver you hear that run, the price tag usually exceeds $10'000

"An antennae that will send and receive the signals from a satellite has been fitted to the outside of the aircraft. The server, through which the data is transferred, resides in an equipment rack fitted into the ceiling of the aircraft. More than 15,000 feet of cabling will run through the internal walls of the fuselage, into the seats, and up to the internet connection points in the arm rests in First and World Traveller Plus and by the laptop plug in the Club World flat beds"

There's plenty to see, have a good time
DAMN!!!! Has that plane got everything?

Give us a time and place Spie, I'll be watching, that would be awesome!

Slightly OT, but I've just found out that the transatlantic cruise liner, the Queen Elizabeth 2, is to be retired from transatlantic duty after this year.

If you want to combine both the QE2 and Concorde's retirement, book a journey combining the both. Concorde flights are usually offered as an option on most tranatlantic crossings. Assuming you can afford it I would recommend flying to New York by Concorde, sightseeing and shopping in New York then cruising back on the QE2 (which effectively has no luggage limit ;) ).

I'm one of many people who have travelled abord the QE2, fulfilling one of my lifetime ambitions of sailing into New York on my first trip to America. That trip was also the start of another of my ambitions to tour America on a motorcycle.

Flying Concorde is also one of my ambitions. I cannpt afford the special flights that BA hav arranged. My only hope now is that BA do some special Heathrow to Heathrow Supersonic flights (as they have done in the past) or for Richard Branson to keep Concorde flying.

I used to work at Heathrow, and live down the road, and the first time i heard Concorde take off I though it was armageddon:o It really is a beautiful plane, and i am envious of all those who travel in her.

When the fleet was grounded I used to work opposite the apron where they'd run the engines over daily. The raw power was unbelievable.

And Tomsk, Concorde over, QEII back - what a dream holiday. If only I had the $$$:p
