Toni is Italy's answer to Andy Cole, great in comestic football terrible on the international stage. He looked awful yesterday and lacked any confidence in his ability especially when put clean through. Rossi on the other hand looked brim full of confidence and a real threat, he could be one that old Fergie comes to regret.

Both Italy and Germany have won the world cup when their teams going into the tournament have looked just as poor as the current squads.

They have a knack of getting results in the major tournaments.

I'd certainly not put them down as favorites, but I do think you've made a brash statement in ruling them out so convinsingly.

I'm sure someone will drag the above quote out if it turns out you were wrong :D
 
USA aren't that bad of a team, they have done alright in the last 10years... maybe :)

Italy beat a not too rubbish team 3-1, good result.

Spain tore apart a pub team,

Brazil played a not too bad Egypt.

I agree with you and Gustov on this.
Italy and Germany aren't known for playing opening attacking football, they're industrious ? they grind teams down, and they're built from the back.

Solid in defense, and they work as a team. Which quite often gets them through games they don't perform in.

Yes i remember that tournament well. You played your usual BORING 4-5-1 and grinded out a 0-0 against Spain.

Thank god you lost on penalities, would have been injustice to see you skank another tournament after drawing to Romania 1-1 and getting ripped to shreds by Holland 3-0.

I really hope England play Italy in the World cup, i think even we are a better national team atm.

I've watched most of the confederations cup games and I now can't stand the horns. It is ridiculous. It isn't really atmosphere as the noise in the stadium doesn't really react to what happens on the pitch.
