hello all

i got the conroe 6600 with the asus P5B deluxe with arctic cooling 7 pro.

i,m bit concerned with my temps:

idle:
cpu= 40c
MB Chipset = 36c with fan
= 40 without fan

load:
cpu= 50c
MB Chipset = 45c

guys is this ok by the way, everything is running at stock.

thanks

Only guide i got is a 6300 @ 2.6 and thats at 34 stock although with that speed step thing knocs that down too 2.2.

When i make 100% cpu usage it puts it too 2.6 gig and temps are around 44c but i have got good air flow in my case 5x80m fans and a freezer 7 pro on the cpu.

I'm not sure the P5B bios is up to much regarding temps to be honest!

My E6300 was idling at 55, load up to 66, according to the bios, although the MB seemed to be correct at 35.

I downloaded Coretemp, which reported idle temps of 45 and load 55, which seem a bit more realistic, but still on the high side. These temps were taken on the same day, so the ambient temps were similar.

I'm now watercooling my chip, and Coretemp reports 35 idle and about 43 max load, which again seems high vs some others on here.

The big caveat around all this though, is that temps are a moving feast, and when folks report their temps on here (including me!), you don't know what other variables are at play such as room temp, bragging rights etc! ;)

The main thing is, is it stable? If it is, I wouldn't worry about it! I understand the Conroe chips have a high max safe temp anyway (90+).

hello all

thanks for the feedback

YES its very stable no probs of such, games run fine and 3d mark runs ok too.

at the moment these temps were taken when the side panel is off, and hasnt been on yet, i got the lian li PC7 with 2 12cm fans so cooling i think its ok.

some tmeps u guys were reporting some were rather hot, you think is the bios as i already updated mine twice and i,m using asus probe for these readings.

another thing my arctic cooling 7 is running at 505rpm i,m using the q-fan controler in the bios and thats using the performance profile, any u guys know how to speed this up a bit to 1000rpm.

if the q fan is not enabled all my fans start to spin up to their max and my pc sounds like a hoover.

thanks

Asus ProbeII on my P5B reports temps about 7c hotter than Coretemp.

As Coretemp reads from the core, that's the one I think is more reliable. ProbeII just parrots whatever the bios is saying.

What Bios are you running now? Is it 211 or 213?

could you please link me, and could coretemp also read MB temp?

i,m running the latest bios for asus p5b deluxe = 0507

thanks

Mine, there is a 15C offset between MB and coretemp on the P5W. Motherboard chipset between 30/38C. At 3.6GHz/1.53v. 20C ambient.

Idle -- 30C (bios)
Load with S&M -- 38C (bios)

E6600 @ 3.4 - Swiftech Watercooling (silent  )

Idle: 31-32c
Load: 45-46c (running higher volts than needed.. will lower it sometime)

hi

i,m running AC Pro 7, the thing spins around 500rpm and thats because i set up Q-Fan Controller in the bios as performance profile.

anyone else whos got that board and hsf and chip please confirm ** temps and rpm pls?
