Conroe pricing at OC

they seem reasonable priced so long as the performance is as good as they make out. Dont like the price jump between the 6600 and the 6700.. seems silly. £160 more (65% more) for %10 increase in clock speed. i know this is similar around the board but this is quite a jump.

Love to know how welll the 6600 clocks. Shouldnt be too hard to get it up to the 6700 if all speculation is true

people over at extreme systems have got their 6600 to 4000mhz, but whether we can get such overclocks with retail chips, i dont know. Although having said that it seems that the retail stepping apparently are OC better than the ES chips.

There has always been a huge increase in price past a certain performance level for CPU's. Look at how much the A64 used to jump from a 3700 to a 4000 6 months ago.

This is normal and to be expected. The wise choice is to buy the CPU just before the price rockets up out of proportion to the performance increase.
