Any one else feel dissapointed about games coming out on the 360 ?
Ok, so what about the ultimate Wii game, now you have see what It can do, what do you to play on it ?
Can you see a future for the PS3 ? Do you think the 360 will bowl it over ?
They'll ALWAYS be a mixture of good/bad games on ANY console as it's down to individual tastes. A lot of people on here rave about GRAW, personally I thought it was rubbish. Likewise I thought Condemned was incredible, yet there's still a 50/50 split on it with people at the extreme level of loving or loathing it.
The more recent games; Blazing Angels, Table Tennis, Moto GP, Prey, I've really held no interest at all so haven't bought any game since Battlefield 2 about a month ago. I'm sure it'll change soon, Dead Rising is out soon (hopefully) and a few more a scheduled so it's exactly what I've said above, everyone's tastes differ and that's only a good thing.
As for the Wii, again mentioned in another thread but I can't wait to see if there are any exploring games that will allow the Wiimote to me used as a torch. I'm seriously seriously holding judgement on FPS games at the moment as I don't know how the control is going to be. It didn't take that long for me to convert from PC to Console in the FPS scene, and again, a few people on here will agree that in some games the console controls feel better than mouse. But the Wii is something new again, and whilst I've just got used to controlling movement/rotation/pitch/yaw with two thumbs, it looks like I've to go back to school to learn how to do this with ONE thumb and moving my arm in the direction I want to look. Could be the best thing since sliced bread, or could be a let down for 'pure' FPS games like Doom, Far Cry, Battlefield, etc, etc.
The best games I think for the Wii are going to be those that you simply can't achieve today. The fishing one in Zelda looks great fun, Rockstar Table Tennis would be brilliant, boxing would be incredible and of course sports games like golf (and crazy golf!!), tennis, baseball etc would enter a totally new league. Even adventure games where you've to search for things, perhaps a MASSIVE adventure like Myth where you could turn pages, look under things, push, pull, carry, drop items with the wiimote would take on a new level. All very exciting stuff.
As for the PS3. Despite the moans and digs on here, I still reckon it'll find a secure niche in the market. Sony is a household name, Microsoft is still a computer company and Nintendo still has that 'child' brand to it. It's all to do with Marketing. Microsoft do NOT advertise their product saying it's a killer console with home cinema capabilties. Nintendo do NOT advertise their product as the killer console. Sony DO advertise their console saying it's the successor to the highly successful and worldwide leading PS2 which will integrate into the home cinema, music and media systems. Straight away, they've sold it to hundreds of thousands of people who couldn't give a damn about the best games, but because it's new, expensive looking, is a Sony and fits in with their environment. Will the 360 bowl it over? No, don't think so, but I think this time Sony DO have stiff competition, maybe NEXT time Microsoft will win, but this time, no.
