Yo guys,

Your help required.

I have a PC that uses a 19" monitor. I want to re-locate my downstairs 360 upstairs, the only feesible place for the 360 is to be on my desk (with the PC), sooooo, I want a 32" to replace the 19" TFT.

What 32" should I go for, I'll need to use the TV for my PC monitor as well, my PC only has one VGA connection, how can I switch between the two? Also, sound, my sound system has no inputs whatsoever, just a 3.5mm jack into the PC so I need to upgrade this too..

What do you recommend?

Cheeeeeers!

you need a video switch (known in IT circles as a KVM) to share the single VGA although i would think you'll use composite and VGA if your running a 32" TV yeah? Biggest problem you'll have is resolution, aim for a 1080p TV if you can afford it.

Which one is up to you. Big brands like LG and Samsung have come out with <£500 32 + 37" sets theres not much to choose between them all if your going for a good make.

I would use VGA from the 360 yeah, I thought about a KVM switch actually. I have one of them..

I don't want to spend more than £500 on a 32" really.

Have a look at the LG's.

Good for hooking up to a PC due to their 1:1 pixel mapping, and a 32"er can be had for under £500.

I really would just use either HDMI or Component with the 360 and leave the VGA port for the monitor

That said you can get TV's with VGA and DVI port (IIRC thats the digital monitor input) so you could try that if you had your heart set on the 360 on VGA

As for the TV, loads of great deals around 42inch Sammys about 800 quid now so I'd be looking at around 500 £ mark for you 32, try to push for 1080p HDMI models, sure you know all this though

Thanks for the suggestions. Off looking tonight.

What about audio? I want a decent 2.1 setup with the required inputs to be able to use with my 360.

I don't know much about decent 2.1 setups but most people here will suggest the Logitec z550s ?I think. Bascially you want a system which has a sub cabable of recieving optical input

That's what I was going to suggest till he said 2.1

I used to have the Acoustic Energy Aego for my 2.1 setup. Very good 2.1 system.

You'd be much better off with something like the Dell 2407fpw, 1280x720 is just to low a resolution for PC use, especially at 32"!

AFAIK, there are no 1080p 32" sets available in the UK as yet?

For the audio, have you considered a dedicated amp and speakers? You could then start off with 2 or 2.1 and then upgrade as and when you saw fit.

I don't think there's a better 32" telly for under £500 than the Panasonic 32LMD70, I've got the 26" version and can definately recommend it.

I might not use the TV as a monitor now, just gonna relocate the 19" TFT.

I'm still hunting for these Z550's. Where can I find them? How much are they usually?

Totally agree, my mate has those and they're fantastic. If i had gone down the 2.1 route (I have the Logitech Z5500's) those are the ones I would have got.
